Hello brothers,
One of my friend wants to Mod his Swift, hes plannin an engine swap. The call is between a Swift Gti engine and a Baleno Engine, which one do you think is the better off/powerful option? how good are the Gti Engines?will they need a complete rebuild?
Also, what is the approx cost of
1. Gti Engine
2. Baleno Engine
Along with wiring harness ECM excluding the gearbox.
Any sources for the engine will be of great help.please:
If power is what you are looking at then get the GTi engine. The Baleno engine aint bad either and can be tuned to quite a good level but IMO get the GTi engine.

hell yes get the gti engine. Is he getting it brand new?
You don't get any brand new GTi engines, cy. Lol.
Balram, depends on turbo/NA, and whether you want a fast ride or to race. If you want to race, Esteem overbore or Baleno. Fast ride, G15 Cultus. Turbo, you will have to mix and match.
Lots of variables. If you decide on application, you can narrow it down.

A lot will also depend on fast or how fast and how much do you want to spend ?
Do you homework religiously and trust me the homework will take at least a couple of months.
Thanks BUSA,cyneverdie,akshay.

Looking for a fast ride, I know the racing rulez :) bad isnt it. Is the G15 Cultus available? what would be the approx cost?any sources/tuners???not really loooking at a turbo at this point-over budget.
any sources for Gti engine??I agree, we dont get new engines, definately have to go in for a complete rebuild. Can aybody give some rough estimates?
Budget for this project is also not too high. want to finish it as low as it can
Guys, is it possible to change the head of the indian swift to the DOHC head, which came with the swift GTi, sold in the US?
The engine block should be the same, as both are g13's, so the GTi head should be a direct fit on the indian swift.
Here are some basic specs of the GTi engine-

Pistion Displacement 1298cc (79.2 cu.in)
Compresion Ratio 10:1
100HP @ 6500RPM
83 lb-ft of tourque @ 5000 RPM
EMPFI (Electronic Multipoint Fuel Injection)
Redline 6800RPM (depends on model)
Acceleration:
0-30 MPH - 2.6 Secs
0-40 MPH - 4.5 Secs
0-50 MPH - 6.3 Secs
0-60 MPH - 8.3 Secs
0-70 MPH - 11.5 Secs

There's a zen here Which is said to be running an esteem bottom end and a Twin cam head, and knowing the person, it should be true. so i guess its possible on the swift too.
Thanks speedfreak, but i do not plan to do it on my car as of now, maybe after a year or so. I jut wanted to know if it is possible?
