Hi Buddy, just check out the car dealer recommendations. Both the companies have good products. Saint gobain should work fine.

AIS would've been the OE item in the car when it came from the factory and it is a laminated windshield.

Saint Gobain IF laminated is a good buy for 3k. If it's not a laminated windshield give it a pass.

I think most of the modern car windshields are laminated as per the laiddown guidelines. Right? A non laminated glass amongst other things can be risky in case it shatters.

What happened? Birthday BASH?

As said by Zappo, most modern cars have only laminated windscreens. But there're non laminated versions available in the market too. I've seen some examples. So, choose laminated ones only.

A suggestion : Don't get your windscreen fitted from the unorganised segment; either go to the "windscreen experts" or to an Maruti authorised service station.

Windscreen damage is fully covered by insurance. Glass has a 0% deductible, though you will have to shell out a marginal amount for rubber seals & fitting.

No actually I was trying to put leash on my dog. She is very playful dog, she jumped on me and accidentally I lost control of the leash (It was a cloth leash), which fell right on windshield of my car from second floor. There was a small crack because of buckle and this was a year back. Since then I have been quite lazy and Since then it has increased a lot and to top it all in another leash fight few days back the whole gauntlet kind of leash fell on my car this time. So now have to change it anyhow.

Yes when it comes from the factory. But there are cheaper non laminated windshields available outside the OE market. Price of Saint Gobain at 3k is cheap. Thats why i suggested to check whether it's laminated or not.

Even if you take a claim now, you will not lose much. In this situation, you can save much more by claiming, than if you dont. Because your 20% NCB would work out to far less amount the cost of the windshield.

But then, if you are going to get insurance for any other car in the next insurance-year, then you can stand to lose quite a bit by losing the NCB on that car.

Hey guys. One of my friends who deals in Windscreen has quoted me 1.5K Yes 1500RS for FY Imported windscreen, Its Laminated. Since I am going to use this car for just a year. I think this makes sense.
He even told me that If his car had problem with Windscreen this is what even he would Install. I dont think its a bad buy. WHat say?
