Modification of Indian car into a convertible

Hello,
Does anybody from this forum tried to convert Indian car into convertible sports car like shown in following picture?

Quite a few M800's and few other sedan's have been chopped to sport the convertible look. But they mostly found their way into the wierd and wacky thread.

A good convertible job with an equally good engine (since its not looks alone) to match is hard to find. There are some out there but i wonder if they qualify as true blue sports convertibles like the mazda (?) in the pic.

I too second Aditya about the cars finding their way into the weird and wacky mod thread.
Anyways what is the car you have in mind to get it to the convertible look? And getting it like a factory manufactured convertible is tricky and am not sure any indian car stood the test of it by getting it done by local garages.

Youd be much better off buying an imported sports/convertible car, really !

Its Honda.
You are right. I am doubtful about any Indian car which can be modified as sportcar.
Modification from individuals is hard thing. I doubt, any indian manufacturer thought about converting their existing model into sportscar. I think, in near future, there will be demand for sportscar in India.

Just to point out, the car in the pic isn't a Mazda convertible but a Honda S2000 that originally came only in roadster form.

BTW a cheap option would be to look at the San Storm.

I saw a Matiz(not the spark) with its roof and all totally cut off
The only thing it had was the glasses on the front and sides ( even the rear one was removed)

I have yet to see one after-market roof chop job that drives properly. The handling is a total miss and can be outright dangerous at speed. I don't recommend converting any Indian car into a convertible.

+1 to Autopsyches comment : Go for a used import if you must have a convertible. There's also the Maruti Gypsy.

I feel if you get the right people and have the money you could go for the modification.

Esteem would be a nice base car to start with.

This Fiat500 just launched may become first convertible in India in near future. following pics taken by various bhpians are already posted in another thread.
