this is scary....i just got my amp and sub installed in my ikon with a professional .

if this happens to me, i'll hang the guy upside down and then put his pants on fire!

Probably, the wires were thin and carrying more current than they could handle. Obviously, over a period of time, the insulation has melted or something like that.
