Strut Brace for Baleno ? Anybody?

I had purchased a set of free-flow headers for the Baleno from Automech Engineers, Mumbai.

I also required a strut brace, which Vivek said he doesn't have. If anybody in Mumbai with a Baleno is interested in a strut brace & is willing to provide the car for a day for fabrication, he said he can manufacture one.

Anybody interested ?

Drop down to any of the tuners places here in bangalore itself and they will fabricate one for you.

On the forum, psycho comes to mind.Otherwise,OMP makes a bolt on for the baleno. You could try importing it.

Methinks some of the OMP products are locally available these days in Bangalore ? Here's a linky for the same : Harish Kukreja's Photos - OMP Racing Products | Facebook .
Get in touch with handbrakeharry from rally.co.in and he should be able to help you.

I had tried to source the OMP strut brace from Dubai - but its been discontinued.

The OMP if available would have cost me more than Rs: 5000/-. Automech Vivek said if can lay his hands on a Baleno he can fabricate one for Rs: 1500/-

I also want one. Would have preferred something like OMP. But if Automech is willing to make them then we can make a group buy.

Unless one is considering taking the Baleno to the tracks, do you really need strut brace for Baleno?

The day I took delivery of the Baleno in April 2005, I asked Amit (iceman91) of superbaleno fame whether I need a strut brace on my Baleno. His answer was simple, "I don't have one, not planning to get one either". That settled it for me.

If you are seriously putting your car to the test yes it is required. For daily driving and sprints here and there it does not matter. better to get the suspension modded first.

Samurai: I still dont have one

Call Flawless Performance in BLR. They make this kind of stuff.

Yo Eapen, what's the scene on the suspension? And what's with the FuelStar?

Thanks, but the Flawless web-site has a blank landing page with just a couple of phone numbers & an email ID !

An email sent to said ID returned at once with a "Mailbox Full" error !

By the way, Flawless specializes in strut braces & custom fabrication ?

Hi v1p3r - so you are from chennai ! hmmmm....

Regarding the Koni's, I still have not installed it in my car - still desperately hunting for discarded Baleno shocks to fit it in. I have paid a scrap guy to get me those shocks - but its been 3 weeks !

Fuelstar - not yet decided.

I do Coorg hilly roads at times & I believe a strut brace could improve the handling.
