1.6L Turbo Zen!

a few days back a guy come to my workshop to buy some mechanicals..... he tries to argue about some head design... and then he gives me this.... "if you put the head of a 1.3 esteem to 1.0 zen your zen becomes a 1.3" ....... i go huh

..... he claims he tunes cars and stuff.... here people with so little knowledge of what changes the cc and stuff start tuning cars... ... after that i stopped arguing with him.. i go " you the best"

its a gud thing they try to do what they want... but atleast do your homework....

Is he changing the pistons, reboring etc? Or does he claim, increased CC by just replacing the head?

I don't see how that can be possible. Increase by 300 CC isn't a joke.

exactly ... how can you change cc by just a head conversion..... i told him u need to change your displacement.. to increase cc.. and he goes "i cant explain how exactly but it does"... i go ok....

Hmmm... maybe he does that and tells his customers Viola! Here is your e-zen! complete with the 1.3 esteem head. And that'll be 60k please sir. Me thinks this is what that guy might be upto.

I remember Anand from Jayam automotives doing something to his esteem. He had a radical head a DOHC unit if i am right and lots of other goodies in it. He even had a LSD on it!

ya well he must surely doin that... i drive a 1.3 dohc in my zen.. i told if i put this dohc head on your normal sohc esteem will it become 1.4 or 1.5 he said maybe........

dnt worry i am not that crazy....

well the head conversion will cost u anywhere between 15 to 25k depending on the car u want it on... like carb esteem or FIesteem..carb esteem will envolve more work than the F I ones...for this conversion.....

and how will this help on the FE and the performance front?????????

ya its a swift gti head...... c originally the complete engine with the original wiring and injectors and stuff.. this 1.3 dohc has a stock power of 100bhp......

i have this engine on my zen since the last 1 year... its works grt.... its not got a lot of torque but its a high revving engine... u ll get amzing top end with it....also if u mod it right u can get upto 9000 rpm... i have quite a few mods on this engine... i can rev freely upto 8500rpm.....

ive already got a blower on it... it can take upto 10psi of boost without changing the internals....[IMG]

dude is this the same car which was there at the speedrun 2005 which did not have a paint job nicknamed "jaundice zen"

yeah this is the same zen... its all painted and ready to roll.... ill post some pics as soon as its done.....

too bad i could nt get time to get it done before the drag..... even autocar has posted pics of my zen in their magazine... chek it out....

What happened at the drag? I was behind the yellow zen for Open Class but you dint run? Some engine problem?
