My 1987 BMW E30 325is restoration

hey guys have had a '87 bmw coupe for the last 10 years, it's a 325is which is basically the same as a 325i but with the sports package... recaro bucket seat, M-Tech suspension , lowered springs,30% lock l.s.d diff, close ratio gearbox and some other creature comforts.it only came as a left hand drive, i still have the originally invoice which reads $29,653 in jan 1987.originally came in a delphin metalic blue but plan to change that once it gets to the painting stage.

originally the 325is is 170bhp stock and from the factory used to do 7.1 sec after years of driving it around,read hill climbs, track days finally have decided to restore it to show car condition, the car is already stripped and basic body work has been done, initially i thought that i would post once it was ready but then could resist not posting any longer...

i cant remember where i have the pics of the cars on the comp. but shold find them soon. till then hang inthere guys...

can't wait to see this beemer come alive. Have personally sat in it, before it got stripped down, lot of power and surprisingly comfortable for such an old car! Good luck buddy!

@ricky_63 : sir, i see you haven't been chez Autopsyche as of late! My BMW is standing there like a showpiece, awaiting the complete overhaul. Won't be goin in for a crazy M3 or supra engine as its comming out too costly, so just gettin it back to its original glory.

I dont think it would it be worth spending the money on a 316. You would be better off getting a stock 325i in decent condition. Read double horsepower.

Not a taunt but just to remind you of your initial post "I also bought the car because i needed something, which after some serious mods could provide more power than my Evilution"

I repeat, you will never be satisfied with the 316i. Better to let it go and wait till funds materialize.

Well, what can I say..your BMW looks pretty neat. As for the crazy power bit, at the end of the day it is your call. Conversions are expensive but depends on what you pay for it.

I am planning on getting some serious factory powered machine hope it materializes - keeping my fingers & toes crossed !!

@speedsport
I am much obliged to know that you are finally "thinking" of putting up some pics of your trip to Kargil & those of your car. Looking forward to it

Cheers

Going by the performance of Mr. Speedsport today at the Maruti Suzuki Autocross. One can only hazard a guess as to what the BMW would turn out to be !!!!

Maybe we get to see it on the next year's autocross

Cheers
