Custom Car from contessa chassis with toyota 2.2

Spotted a custom car today and on approaching the owner, he said that it uses the contessa chassis and a 2.2lt 110hp turbocharged toyota engine in a RWD layout. rest of the body is custom done except for the bumpers. the front is a swift bumper chopped up a little. will try to get more pics later as the owner was refusing to let anyone take pics.

We've got innumerable threads on modifying the Contessa; here is someone who has actually gone the entire mile! Kudos to his spirit. Can't comment on the fit & finish since the car is obviously not complete....but based on first impression, the car seems to have a balanced stance. Would love to see more pics, including the rear profile, if possible at a later encounter. Did you tell him about Team-BHP?

Too bad about the engine though, its lifted from an MUV application. A modded 1.8 ISZ petrol would rock!

In for more pics... very interesting makeover. Lots of work left to do on the car, you better track the car down once its complete!

The car is actually looking good. No harm in borrowing a few parts from other cars. He desperately needs a headlamp assembly really bad.

definitely it's turning out a good head turner till now

i liked the sides more , a coupe style with the perfect modding of the pillars and window mirrors etcc.

do update with this one .

Some of the design elements are fantastic. Notice the push down door handles. Hope that the car is structurally as sound too. A coupe conversion does make it inherently stiffer though.

Looks Good, but as mentioned earlier, would have to wait and watch as to how the loose ends are gonna be tied together.

One thing though, would this car get an RTO approval? Wonder how the owner would manage that?

the body looks well designed. but what about the structural quality of the chassis. what about the safety etc. mainly it will be almost impossible to endorse this with RTO.

The Chevrolet SR-V headlamps should suit well.

wow it looks awesome already! A nice paint job would make it a true head turner.
Hoping to see more of the car!

Those alloys looks like they have been borrowed from the E39's.

a nice paint job will put many high end cars to shame. the tyres and alloys give the car a lowered look same as a high end european car. however i find the hood a bit skimmy from the side angle. would have been great if it was given a muscular look.

Sorry for going off topic but are there any RTO regulations in India for such excessively modified vehicles (rather custom vehicles)? If so, I'm pretty sure the owner must be needing to go through many hassles (under the table hassles )
