My largely stock civic, hopes to get modded, someday.

Hey folks,

I've been a keen observer of team-bhp for over 10 months now and have nothing but admiration for the amount of knowledge and skill that the group cumulatively possesses. And at times it feels like I know most of you, first-hand.

On my part, I love the mods (both good and bad) discussed in the various threads but have been trying to keep my 07 civic as much stock as possible, for as long as possible, because I know that this is a path where once you tread, has no return.

Anyways, I believe the day I choose to go down this path, I would have a powerhouse of knowledge to learn from, what with Arush's workshop being just a 10 minutes drive away, and the experience of 20861 members to learn from.

And now that I’m past the ice breaker, let me hear from you guys about the love of my life. The mods that have been done so far are all external and there're absolutely no changes to the interiors/engine bay.

Mod 1 (if you can call it that)
On the outside, I recently got the alloys and rubbers replaced since the baby had already done 33k kms. The specs are as follows

Alloys - 16x70 Lenso (Samurai Series - SC05)
Tires - Yokohoma (205/55 R16, AVS, db decibel, V550 series)

And let me take a moment to thank some good people for helping make this absolutely amazing choice

Arush/Autopsyche - For guiding me on the look of the alloys

Sanjay Chauhan - one amazing salesman than Yokohoma has, who insisted on me getting these amazingly sporty and absolutely silent tires (although I’m surprised, why none of the tire shops stock these)

Jitesh (BK Tyres) - who, even though this was the first time I was doing business with him, helped me procure the tires from the Yokohoma godown, at 7:30 PM on a Saturday evening. And then this absolutely amazing dude, was so courteous to wait for me till 8:45 PM to drive down from Karol Bagh and get the wheels fixed. Jitesh, you surely made one lifelong customer, man.

Thanks a ton guys.. I owe one to all of you.

Mod 2
Audi/BMW mix style projectors with Philips HID (6000k, low beam)

This was a pretty impulsive buy. I just fell in love with the clean black look, the moment Arush opened them up.

Mod 3
Mugen style door visors
Graphics (from London). I’m aware not a lot of people are huge fans of graphics but I loves these for their ability to give the car that "aggressive" look that I was looking for, while leaving me with the option of removing them, if I didn’t like them enough.

That’s all there is guys ( I told you so!!) and I now lay the door open for you to hurl your bouquets and brickbats at me.

PS: I know I’ve been trying to keep myself away from doing the performance mods so far, but I'm sure the team-bhp (got-BHP??.. huh) effect is catching up soon. So do keep the suggestions coming.

(Apologize for the quality of the photographs, will try to get better ones next time)

-Cheers

Nice wheels and tyres. How good is the grip? Not a big fan of large stickering on the car, so I don't like the NFS Underground vynil

Hi Pranav,

The grip and handling so far has been absolutely amazing. Whats even more appreciable is the very little amount of noise that they make.

Totally appreciate your opinion about Vinyls. And thanks for being the first to comment!

Love the Audi styled headlights. I think that's the best part of your car.

Congrats Aztec

Headlights and alloys are great. They look awesome. Give a great deal of value to the look and feel.

Thanks Kutlee,

Agree, there could have been better alloys but my options were limited by the designs available in Lenso, in Delhi.

Hopefully, there'll be a next time.

And Im totally with you on the headlights, I didnt have to think twice when Arush showed them to me.

Aztec, I really liked the elegance your car showcases. You did a wonderful job by not going in for those Loud exterior mods. No offence meant, but the Red sticker on the rear doors is an eyesore.

Buddy, get a new registration plate enhancing the beauty of the car.

@ Aztec - Nice alloys mate. How about blacked out rear lights? (check my garage)
And as suggested, please get better plates.

@ Karizma-Devil..

Respect your opinion. Unfortunately, I like the way slight aggression that these graphics display (maybe seeing them in person might change your opinion) so planning to keep them for a wee bit longer.

@tsk13, i've been debating the red sticker myself so might just pull it off one fine day.

Good to hear number plates are on your mind. Blacked out stuff, you're having LED headlamps, won't advise you for it.

Looks good except the red decal.

Time to get a MUGEN kit and LED tail lamps.
