Additional Lights for the Scorpio-bull.jpg

The HLs are fitted with 10000K HIDs....

The roof lights have Narva 50W bulb each

The Rallyes have Hella 100W bulbs and the fogs on the bumper have Narva 50W bulbs.

Re: Additional Lights for the Scorpio

Akshay, these Hellas got damaged in an accident by my son and were replaced with the Rallye 3003. I had paid 7K for the earlier ones and for the 3003 I shelled out 8K (son's pocket money was suspended for one full year). And no, they don't block the air flow.

I don't have any night shots, but will take one shortly.

The 10000K HIDs are neither too blue or purple. They are too blinding pure white.

Re: Additional Lights for the Scorpio

Is it necessary that additional lights be mounted along with a bull bar? What are the cons of mounting it using just a bracket? How does the Ironman supernova HID compare to the lightforce HID range?

Re: Additional Lights for the Scorpio

Hi
I wanted to enquire where in Delhi I can get Light Force 240 blitz installed on my scorpio. I already have the light s and the wiring harness with me and was looking for a reliable workshop where i can get them installed. I went to Koncept motors workshop in Okhla and they have said that they don;t have the machines or expertise to get the job done.
I know Arush from autopsyche in gurgaon can get them installed but i was hoping to get some contacts in delhi

Thanks

Re: Additional Lights for the Scorpio

HI Rajain...would you know of any person who could install light force on my scorpio, I have the 240 blitz and the wiring harness. Am not too keen on getting a bull bar installed. Is there any other way you're aware of that can be used to install the lights? Also where would be the best place to get them installed in delhi?

My sense is even if the install is very good a fiber bumper would not be able to hold them well. The installation cost depends on where you want to install them-bumper or roof with additional work. The starting range of Lightforce is 14000 INR onwards. Yes they are very light and really solid (build). Bullet from a small arm can bounce off, water won't seek in, the weight is as less as 500 grms and the light is worth every penny spent on them. Just get the install done well. My recommendation on the installs would be a small iron plank coming from under the bumper to hold them. Yes in that way they would project about 6" ahead of the car so anyone with a smaller garage should notice. But my survey has shown Lightforce to be much much better in terms of light, build and quality.

Re: Additional Lights for the Scorpio

Got Rallye 3003 installed in my scorp on 31st dec. Have installed using a " L " bracket strip welded together inbetween and fastened to the frame were horns are installed . also if required maybe can weld the bracket to the frame with couple of spots.

Re: Additional Lights for the Scorpio

Hi Prakashutosh

I got the Lightforce work done in Koramangla at a shop called Car Fancy. Run by Khan brothers, they have 2-3 workshops. There is also another shop (a a much bigger one) which has recently opened in the same lane...the name slips my mind...just walking distance from Maharaja hotel.

The welding work is done at another small workshop. Do closely watch this part of the work as the welding candle can damage a plastic/fibre bumper. So best would be to keep some sort of insulation over the bumper. The wiring (along with rely) is the next specialist work in this which would be done by the electrician. A neat heavy duty wire, with a rely and switch running from the battery is the thing you should look out for. You should check that when you turn ignition off do the lights go off...ie...if you park the vehicle and walk away and forget to switch off the lights do the lights remain on...and drain the battery. I have also seen Lightforce on Pajero and a couple of other SUVs...a good install should not be a problem. Once they are install I'd ask you check the focus and also rev the vehicle high...any engine/vehicle body vibration should not get passed on to the lights. Also you may want to mildly shake them by hand to see that they don't point elsewhere with street children just running their fingers over them.

I also recently checked out KC hilites (or hi lights). They were also very good lights.

Hope this is useful information.

Hi Rajain,
Could you share pricing and contact information please. I've got a pair of Roolites from Australia and not keen on a nudge guard.

I did contact Satya (EVO) who put me on to a mechanic in Bamboo Baazar. Though I have all the wires, harness, switches, nuts etc, he's given me a quote of 2500/- for a clamp and installation. I feel this is an attempt to fleece.

Where else can I get a good job done at a reasonable price?

Hey Arjuna, Your install is impressing, this is exactly what I'm looking for. I want the lights to be located slightly above where you have installed it so that I can remove the lights when not required. Can you please post a close up of the install? Have they opened up the honeycomb structure for the clamp to come out, or does it make use of the available space?

Re: Additional Lights for the Scorpio

Happened to find this on fellow member Pradeep's(cadaver_prad) FB page.A neat mod and voids the need to drill bumpers and pay through your nose for a decent set of clamps. Check the mounting done on the CRV, looks subtle and neat.

His blog seems a bit dated in terms of the equipment being sold.

That to me looks like the unibar which light force offers with two grooves for mounting the lamps. The bar gets mounted to the holes of the number plate

Yeah and Pradeep responded to my message yesterday regarding the prices. As mentioned 2200/- for Black and 2500/- for chrome. I don't know if this can be modified to mount 4 lamps as such. However makes sense in getting one of these when you wanna install fogs, than drilling the bumper.

Mounting the bar on the holes of the number plate doesnt make it sturdy, am sure there should be more to it.If the base of the mount isn't strong enough, every chance that the fogs will vibrate while driving.

It looks like that atleast from the pics posted. you do not see any clamps on the bar. The Light force bar i was talking about is designed for LF lights which are much lighter than the hellas so that must be good enough to do the job.

However, i was referring to the bullbar which you have on scorpio. I plan to get similar ( is that carryboy ? ). i'd like it to hold 3 hella 4000 compacts. possible ? looks certain from the lovely pictures you posted all over.

Re: Additional Lights for the Scorpio

On the same note, can someone suggest the best place in Bangalore to purchase Hellas/LFs for the Scorpio and their approximate prices too? I m not willing to upgrade the stock HL units and would prefer something aftermarket to keep truckers off my lane on the highways.

And yes, I d need recommendations on their installation too. I do not want to drill holes in the bumper or any other place but would like to use the existing mount points and holes in the vehicle alongwith clamps.
