End Can & Performance

hi!

right now i am running a Super Dynamics end can on my 1.4 DOHC Aveo.
its running on a filter and a FFE from BAR.
i got this can after speaking to aveo owners from singapore and yes the fastest NA aveo 1.4 is running this can too.
earlier i was running a Nitto. now i dont know if its in my head but i feel the initials gone down after ive changed cans.

so the question...How much of a part do end cans play in performance?

Negligible unless the dia of the pipe entering the end can is smaller that the FFE, also too many baffles could give you a drop in performance.

I had a huge millage drop when the end can of my esteem fell of, i was under the impression its just used for muting the sound. But at the same time when i had a serious leak in my lancer 's end can there was no performance or millage fall.

OT the dark side i believe is a thread there on team bhp .

Its the combination of the FFE and performance end-can design that is causing this. It has a lot to do with the change in exhaust velocity through the revv range.

Heres an article explaining why it happens and how you can design an exhaust system to suit you requirements - Header-Exhaust Design Effects on Engine Power - Team Integra

Hey ice one there. Do you mind sharing the details? Or is there a thread on this EYES

Btw, I feel you should have gone for the black Aveo. Would be a stunner with these mods.
