No he runs a Tata Motors Authorised SERVICE Centre, not a dealership. Koyenco is not run by auto enthusiasts but by Coconut Oil producers. RF is run by one self-confessed "car nut", and the difference shows.

Quite affordable too - it shouldnt cost you more than a lakh and a half AT THE MOST, including the repaint. Of course, you'll need an Indica - preferably 2nd hand.

Philipkutty also suggests using the old (original) Indica's 4-speed gearbox with the Indica diesel engine as he feels that gives better driveability. You can also check out the possibility of turbo-charging the Indica engine using Indigo components.

TCing the indica is not a good idea. For the indigo lot of engine parts were strenghtened. So it will be a reliability issue. I think reliability is the reason the 3L dicor also pumps out 115PS and not more.

Sorry to rake this thread up but would that service centre be focuz?
I'm pretty sure I saw this car parked outside focuz at Ernakulam / Kochi on Saturday.

Thanks for all you did Bunny - met suresh_krishnan recently and he said that the Tata Motors vehicle dynamics team had come down to Cochin to inspect, dive and generally get a full feel of his creation. Apparently they spent a lot of time with him and the vehicle.

They have also given him some 'suggestions'...we didnt get time to discuss stuff in detail, but this time I HEARD the Indicoupe fly. He's got a rather nice-sounding exhaust job done and the vehicle really REVVS. Suresh makes her scream.

Haa haaa haaa... he has already done that. Albeit engine wise (ACE). ) On a more serious note Tata wanted this project from grounds up, no stripped down versions.

About this car I have a strong suspicion that under hard, panic braking this car will tumble forward. IMO, it looks too nose heavy. On top of that the height to length ratio is not very favorable for this car. But yes, it really looks like an eye-catcher for sure! :-D

Saw this car recently during my last visit home - he's completely redone the paint job and it looks quite swish now with the new colors which are less 'contrasty'.

Car has been running very well for about 4 years now - will hopefully get to drive it around when I'm in Cochin later next week as the owner is in DXB now.
