How to spice up my Santro's interiors

Hi am proud owner of santro gls (Jan.2k9) since one year. Enjoy my every ride with her in fact. I seriously note that there is nothing good inside the passenger compartment to feel good. Santro obviously not fall in luxurious category but being a santro lover I would like to extract your views /suggestions to modify passenger comparment more pleasant and asthetic with possible ergonomics. (pl be informed that this is not a thread on outside of comparment mods & upgrades)

Colleagues/Experts here pl pour your experience/ideas/assumptions to materialize above to make santro more spicy! I assume this going to benifited for all santro owner/lovers. Thanks.

Dhams, you could try painitng the interiors in a colour of your choice. Or alternatively, (my favourite), try getting a leather wrap for the dashboard. Not sure if anyone does it in your place though.

I remember there was a thread sometime back by KPZen on his santro modification project. You might want to find that out.

For a quick makeover you can try:

1) Nice dual-tone sporty seat covers
2) Real leather dual-tone stitched steering wheel cover
3) Nice red floor mats - remember seeing a SX4 in ICE thread with nice floor mats

If you have more money to spare:

1) Go for 2 DIN HU

Yeap, I went through all this post, helpful but would like to expore more in inside compartment area other than wooden finish on steering, door handle, centre console and dashboard painting.

coolness and peace feeling may drain by laying RED color mats, isn't it? It also gets & looks dirty early. what say?"

See my word in "italic" above

+^Can't we focus on hood, side doors, rear parcel tray, seats, glass windows, hand rest, gear handle, gear box body. I sure most of the people not able to put water bottle in case provided, so water bottle case also.

I wouldn't recommend a hand brush, unless you'r trying to get a wood finish. Use the spray. Also ensure its done in a proper paint and not outside, else you'll have dust particles on ur dash.

Check this links to see some design. I have seen cars like Alto which has very basic interior making total makeover just by changing seat cover

Marvin - Design

They can do door panels too

regarding floor mat - it depends on personal choice, we do not even know the colour of your car

+

What's your budget?

One question, Are you looking for a functional upgrade or aesthetic/bling upgrade?

EDIT: My reply to the qtn below

For a given budget (10-15K) I would have done

1) New seat covers - Art leather - 6-8K
2) Steering wheel cover - real leather 600-700
3) Gear boot/hand brake cover - Art leather 300
4) New gear knob Art leather 300-500
5) Door pads - Art leather 1000
6) Floor mats - your choice??
7) Nice dark sunfilm (if you do not have) - 1-1.5K

8) Chevy have some wood finish stickers for dashboard control panel for 1.5K. Check if you have something like in Hyundai. It looks very nice on my Spark

9) Leather wrapping on dashboard - partial with some designer touch - workmanship plays an important role here, so do it carefully

10) Custom hand rests for front seats - Check with some Santro experts

Dashboard Options Ertiga

Hello All,

I recently got a second hand Ertiga white color for a cool price of 6.5L. Car is a 2012 Sep model and run only 40K kilometers.

I upgraded the following to the car post purchase
1. Napa Leather Black seats from Edge Accessories, HSR Layout
2. Changed the tyres to 195/65/15 Michellin ST 3

Now this car has a beige interior and seats are black. While I wanted black seats considering the color of the car, the interior now looks a little different. I have attempted to perform the following things, but wanted to get the community inputs on how to achieve it

1. Get Black Matte / Gloss, Vinyl stickers to change the entire dashboard. While the prices in Aliexpress are very competitive, I am very tempted with this option.

2. Get the dashboard painted in Black color. If it is paint, it is bound to be there for a long period of time. The downside being, since it is paint, it is bound to smell during the initial runs

3. Get it done by 3M if they do it using stickers. The prices quoted to me for a roof stickering on my Ertiga, was 180/per sqft, which is very high according to me.

4. I checked these signature editions of Ertiga, and I see that they have been provided with a black dashboard. Can we source the parts and get them fixed or can we even ask MGA to do this on the vehicle.

5. This was the last option (don't even like to consider), get dashboard covers available in the market, apply glue and tear off parts at the edge or staple it out.

Can the forum help me to find out the best ways to get this done?

I checked across the forum and did not find anyone who has posted this article.
