esteem stage 2 modds

for the costing please PM/call Mr.Viper.

"Triphase becomes irrelevant if you go for a remap or standalone. Might as well just change the IAT-Fuel correction tables in the ECU with whatever you want, rather than fooling the ECU by giving it fake readings. "

Yes the tri-phase will come out once i do th remap.

"
Hi, which profile cam are u going for BP270/285/300. Are you planning to change your cam sprocket and the crank pulley as well. Which ECU are you going in for :- A piggyback or RD 0901 Standalone ECU.
If you have put a stage 1 Exedy kit why not plonk a fidanza flywheel as well"

I'll Probably go for BP265/BP270. I'll have to discuss it with Jignesh bhai first. I'll aslo go for a adjustable cam gear/puley so that i can have the cam kick in at say around 1800rpm.

I'm not going for ECU I am going for a remap.

How will a cam sprocket, crank pulley and a fidanza flywheel affect the performance and what are the costings?

Only the shocks will be stiffened.

My target is to have a very fast street car. No drags or circuit.

Members awaiting your advice...

cheers

Cam sprocket is just another name for a cam gear, or an adjustable one in this case. Allows you to advance/retard the cam by a few degrees to fine tune the powerband and effective rpm range.

Lightweight crank pulley and flywheel will allow your car to increase its revs faster since there's less mass to torque. Comes at a cost though, since the engine will also lose revs equally fast. People usually skip the light flywheels on a street car, so think twice before plonking down money for one.

Esteem Stage 2 Phase-one Complete"

Fellow members finally my esteem has completed its stage-2 modds.
heres the list uptill now.

Custom 4-2-1 FFE setup custom made from Viper
K&N Filter
Complete Port and Polish job( +Intake manifold )
Throttle body Expansion
Exedy Clutch
Mobil-1 5W50 full Synthetic oil
Art-leather upholstery and door trims
Self retrofitted FXR bi-xenon projectors
Tri-phase unit.
Yokohoma 185-60-R13 tyres.
NGK Iridium Plugs

Modds coming in next month
MSD ignition coil and cables (8.5mm)
Piper cam street spec
REMAP

The car has totally undergone a character change.
The rpm needle justs zooms all the way to redline

the car is very silent untill 2000rpm and then it justs roars to life.
the exhaust tone is sweet. Good bassy roaring noto no phhhrrrr just vroooom vrooom vrooom....

Unfortunately couldnt get the car to KS for a dyno. got stuck two times in the infamous mumbai traffic....

Will definitely do it next time when i get the piper cam and remap.

while coming for mumabi to nashik hit a top speed of 170kmph.
The car easily overtake the likes of stock swift and honda citys; even at high speed of 150kmph.

thanks a tonn to Viper(Jignesh bhai) for doing a great job.
His entire dealing was very transparent and satisfactory.
I was a bit hesitant on the P&P job but it was worth it.

got to see the whole process myself

will post 30-80(3rd gear) and 40-100 4th gear timmings very soon.
taking a average of 5 readings overall.

the car has been driven 500km after the mods.

cheers
happy reving....

Hi Viky,

Good to hear that you have completed the stage 2 mods.
I have a similar setup on my Esteem except that I have not done the P/P and do not have the tri-phase as I did not want to mess with the engine and electrics. Too many bad experiences. I have touched 172 on the Pune Expressway (Once - I don't think I'll try that again!!) so you should be able to do that easily.

Have you fitted the normal Exedy clutch or the Stage 1?

I find the exhaust note gets boring after a while - the continuous drone can give you a headache!! What do you think? Mine was also done by Viper.

What's your fuel efficiency like after the P/P?

Maybe we'll meet sometime on the Nasik road as I go to Kasara regularly.

Drive carefully.

Regards,
SS

yes i have downsized form 195/50R15 to 185/60R13
because there were no decent alloys in 14" and 15" was hampering my ride quality and the alloys needed a change( day in and day out my Great dane and german shephards piss on them) they were corroded. ihad done black powder coating but that to was starting to come off....

With the 185/60/R13 the ride qualtiy has improved significantly. also smaller tyre greater acceleration.

FE on the highway was 11.5Kmpl this was with continuous AC on and avg spedd in access of 120Kmph and high reving driving.
in city with i got a decent 13.5kmph that was a surprise.

i think tri-phase is very safe to install . after the install you just have to clear the error code.
Hey after my remap i am going to remove my tri-phase may be you can hace it. it will be on sale at a very fat discount...

the tri-phase really helps in esteem.

cheers
