Also, see if you can get the valves backcut. That improves flow by a good amount throughout the powerband.
interesting ! Will definitely look into it pranav.thanks man

Hey amey, the 3 angle valve job is more significant at valve seatsl, not only the valves, have a look at pic what i mean to say, get it done at valve seats. |
Jitu, already did that :) Just that I dont have close up pics of the seat unfortunately to show.

Apologies if I'm mistaken, but the Tommi Makinen edition was an Evo 6, or a 6.5. |
Thats correct Pranav. Actually there was one model in the Evo 8 which has this same turbo. Not sure about that model. But yes, what you say is right, this turbo was first introduced on the Evo 6.5
Update :
Made a custom Intercooler mounting plate, tried installing, mainly to see if stock bumper can be retained but sadly we can't. So the hunt for Evo front bumper begins.Lol
Engine Bay also being prepared for painting.

Amey, here are a few pics of a friends car for reference. One shows the top mounts for the intercooler and the other shows the intercooler peeping outta a non EVO bumber. It does look a bit vulnerable though.
If you can get the evo bumper, nothing like it. If you do know someone who is selling just the big front bumper with 6-7inch fog lamp holes on the sides(like Sideways mivec) for a good price, please do let me know. Dont need the skirts, rear bumper or wide body kit.:)

My wallpaper since the last year or so.. Farhan's car, i believe! Looking out fro the same kinda bumper..

Just curious, why an aftermarket fuel rail? Or is that a vacuum manifold? And what injectors are you planning?

No specific reason but the stock one is pretty sad so thought of going for this since its better built and also since its larger, flow rate should be good than stock.
As for Injectors, planning to use WRX stock injectors if I find them cheap or else RC ones. Have to take a call on that.

See if you can get Series 4 RX7 secondary injectors. 800CC and flow well :)
What axels you plan to run with this setup? Is it bolt on?
Interesting ...
Whats the compression like on this motor? Most NA motors are not great to turbo because of their compression.
And even if you do turbo them, you wouldn't be able to run big boost.
What kind of ECU are you running?
You are aware that the turbo you're planning on getting (ie. TD05) is most efficient between 16-18psi right?
Good luck with the build

Axles are stock and yes they are bolt on because I am using Petrol lancer gearbox so axles are exact fit.

In NA form the compression is 8.5:1
For countering this, I am using OE Mitsubishi 1.8mm Steel gasket which was used on 4G93T motor which was factory turbocharged. Stock 4G94 gasket is not so thick so this will act as a decompression gasket.
Currently gonna use Stock ECU from TDM and my Standalone is expected to come soon, once that is done and turbo build is complete, will switch to the standalone.
I do not wish to use anything about 10-12 psi boost for daily use, 16-18 psi is out of question and would be used once in a while for fun.Thats all.
Hope I have answered all your queries.
Which ECU are you planning? Are you getting the work done in Pune? If so, where in Pune? Have you calculated the exact static CR with the thicker head gasket? How much do you want to reduce it to? Also, why switch to the standalone after the turbo install is done? A little counterproductive, don't you think?
