Great news, Karan & Domnic.

About time we started taking MHP (mental horsepower) out of the tuning equation.

Hello guys,
I am gettting an inertia dyno, with 30" rollers. This is by far the most accurate system, not because I am buying it,but because such heavy rollers can stimulate the weight of the car better.
I dont need to take the wheels off the car.So the reading a very accurate, just like the real world where the engine has the turn the wheels and tire also

It is good up to 1200 Hp,not that we have any car here over 500hp(power at wheels)Ranjit`s Supra to name one

Mine is a DynaMite!

Thank You.

Thats good news. But one question. The manufactorers measure at crank. So a 100bhp car may produce just 70hp at the wheels. So if a modded car produces 90bhp at the wheels it means an output jump by 25% but since original manufactorer claim was 100bhp, the modded car will still show lower results. How are you going to factor that in your tests

Most of the real world applications would require us to know the WHP and it is understood there are trasmission losses there are generic rules that can let you determine the true engine output. However most of the tuners around the world prefer to work with WHP figures as it would typically represent the on road figures.

Another point Karan does this system also have enviroment controls to give you true repeatable results. Also an inertia dyno you would only be doing single gear pulls, typically the second.

Hello Psycho,
Yes u can do consistant runs. The inertia dyno will only show u the max whp.1 full pull in the third gear.

Karan one question here..how are you going to correct for atmospheric conditions..humidity, altitude etc (SAE corrected horsepower) ?

Hey Karan,
Congrats...
Inertia dyno mean simply drive you car on the test bench and make the runs ... Finally things are moving in India now...
Cheers
