Appreciate the details.
1) Can you provide me with which brand of 100/90W?
2) Can you also suggest something for the parking and the number plate lights?
Thanks. |
Philips Rally at 125/piece is the best 100/90 bulb you can find in the market :)
Philips Rally 100/90W or even Halonix +60 is good. I suggest you buy both (will not hurt your pocket much) and see what suits the Getz's HL better.
** Make sure you also get yourself a wiring kit and ceramic holders before you do that. Buy ROOTS ;)
** Important information

Hey Ankit
Thanks, you solved my query too. Which harness kit is better, Roots (Rs.700) or Hella (Rs.650)? And do both have Ceramic holders?
Moreover, for me it's 100% City driving. Right now I'm having Crystal Visions but they fail when I'm driving on dark and long roads. I'm thinking of Osram Hyper White at 4300k which gives a White light or Philips Rally (if it gives white light). I'm getting Osram for Rs. 850 a pair and Philips I have no idea for the White Rally (if available).
Please put forward your views on the same as I don't wish to end up destroying the car.
Thanks
Tanveer Singh
Tanveer,
ROOTS has ceramic holders. I guess so does Hella. I suggest the former (but that's my personal choice).
Sorry, but I have found Crystal Visions to be the $#ittiest bulbs from the Philips stable. I am not aware of Osram Hyper White.
Philips Rally is not white but very bright halogen bulbs. If you want whitish light, then another very good option I found is Philips BlueVision @ 4300k (4300k is not yellow nor pure white, just between the two).
See both before you decide!
I hope someone can help me with this.
I'm looking for 100/90 Watt bulbs for my headlights in the following sizes:
9005 and 9006.
I need the best visibility, I'd like some cosmetic effect of whitish light, but don't mind it even if the lights are YELLOW. Need better visibility for night driving.

DocG,
Not too sure of what those numbers mean and how they correspond to sizes. Which car do you have?
Cheers,
gpa
gpa,
9005 and 9006 are the bulb sizes just like H1, H7, H11 etc.
Thanks Ankit.
I want light to be equivalent or whiter in color compared to Philips Crystal Visions with longer range. Now I have 2 choices:
Osram 4300k Hyper White 100/90 along with Harness Wire
or
Osram Night Breaker
The point here is that Night breaker kind of bulbs have short life (read in a post by tsk1979); any idea how short? And which is a better bulb?
Thanks

Pickup Osram 4300k Hyper White 100/90 along with Harness Wire from the options provided.
There are no Philips Rallys in 9005/9006, which is a shame.

Yeah that was the first thing I checked.
Have heard that you get Narva in those sizes, anyone have any idea about them?
All brands are welcome, but please don't suggest HIDs as they are way out of my budget...
Thanks Ashish. I'll be getting it done soon.

Ravindra- Thanks for your detailed reply, fog lights 6k is more used to match my OEM angel eyes headlights of my civic, therefore 4300k will not look nice, i am putting this more to match the color of the rings and the fog lights.
I am going for 4300k for low beam, point noted to point the left headlight towards left, will inform you all if 4300 is effective as I am most of the times for long highway drives, doing Delhi in month end 1400kms enough for me to know if 4300k works or not.
Cheers.
I have installed 4300k P4, very much satisfied with the light quality, thank you all for helping me make the right decision.:thumbs up
Cheers

Hello People!
I'm getting the New Skoda Laura Elegance in a week's time. I'm planning to go in for HIDs on the low beam and maintain stock bulbs on the foglamps and hi beams. I drive mostly on high ways (both marked and unmarked). Avg. Speed - 140kmph. Please advice me on a good lighting set up. Looks not at all important, except that i don't want the headlight assembly to look black after a few days. Pure vision, performance an safety is what i'm looking for.
- Should i go in for higher color temperature or lower?
- someone suggested the OSRAM xenarcs
- what brands?
Please advice. Thanks. |
i'm anyways tampering with the car's wiring, so i gues i'l hae to overlook the warranty issue. i just need to know what coloured lights i should go for:
- HIDs - blue or white or yellow(normal)?
- which beam which colour and which light?
- what wattage will give good lighting as well as not darken the glass
