They are called Windtone rainbow, Roots makes it, so does bosch and hella.

people!
which horn would you suggest for a tata safari?
something thats guaranteed to clear the roads.
btw i use the horn only when really needed and i dont blare them for fun :)

Hey doc, the simplest option is get Hella Red Grill, will work well for your requirement.

recently, i switched from hells red grill to stebel nautilus.
however i am not very happy with the sound, i think my red grills were louder.
and i feel the nautilus is loosing it sound for last few days. especially after the last highwaytrip.
anu idea if teh nautilus can b adjusted??

am also looking for a strong horn.... except nautilius and hella.

I have a roots windtone installed and after yesterday's heavy rain in Bangalore it makes only a feeble sound. A truck guy spashed lot of water on to my bonnet and I am sure water has gone inside the horn. Do you think the horn could be damaged and needs repair or will it come alive after water drains/dries?

Roots horns are repairable. Go to your dealer !

nirmal: remove your horn from the car and place it near 100W tablelamp, it would be fine.

Thanks Panky for the tip. I removed the horn and turned it up side down and water poured out. It has started working already, but still slightly feeble. Dont have a 100W bulb. Hence using a hair drier.

The horn was behind the front grill and it was placed with its vent up. I see chances of water going in again in Bangalore rains. I plan to point the vent down when I fix this back? Is this ok? Will it affect the sound of the horn as it will be pointing down?

How about a pair of Stebel Nautilus?

Single Nautilus will be more than enough i think.

nirmal dont use hair dryer (for moisture issues)....

i use a pair of roots horns in my swift. they are the OEM for skoda auto, ford, honda, mitsubishi, volvo, toyota in india. they are loud enough and sound great too. they costed me Rs.450 in delhi.

I bought Stebel Magnum horns from JC Road alongwith relay this Saturday for 900 bucks. But the relay makes a "clicking sound" when horn is used. I got to know that this is because I have amplifier in car for ICE which causes the "clicking" and a solid state electronic relay instead of normal relay should solve this issue.

Has anyone used this solid state electronic relay in car? How much does it cost and where is it available?

Please help.please:

I have FIAMM Horn, in Pair , Installed in my Indica, and they sound very loud and Macho, good enough the clear the road. but the typical installation Location is very bad in Indica, that the horn sound inside so high enough to scare away my 5 month old daughter.

So last week I moved them in front, while taking two risk. One, they are very low in position now, more prone for water damage, though pointed down. Second, for loose wire or adjustment, whole bumper has to screwed open, will take lots of time and DIY is tough.

But In cabin sound/noise is reduced to half, or even less, now.
