Well yes they are supposed to adjust car mechanics for a specific tyre size and when suspension changes are made.

But in reality I dont think this is the case. A few examples are the Lancer which come in 2 ridiculous tyre sizes the GLXi which was too narrow and 80 profile which messed up the dynamics of the mitsu chasis and the SFXi which had 185/60-14 messing up the ride, lowering the car thereby reducing the GC by a huge margin and inducing a speedo error.

The SX4 has the same issue 2 models with sizes which don't have the same overall diameter, the VXi has 195/65-15 and the ZXi has 205/60-16.

The Swift has ridiculous 165/80-14 which are unsafe for that car but the only thing is good mileage and ride quality. You ca visually make out the car is riding on cycle tyres.

So it really depends how much you trust the manufacturer.

Both tyres are of different class.
S drives - High performance tyre u cant compare it with XM1s.

XM1 -Fantastic ride comfort and minimum road noise.

SHamil, You will get Michelin Energy XM1 for the configuration you are looking at...Michelin Energys are available from 14inches and above...

Both the brands (XM1s and S Drives) are good and reliable, take a call depending on availability and budget...

Is it? you mean S-Drives are far better than Energy XM1s...I didnt know that..

I thought both the brands are class different from other brands...

It would be a call between Yokohama S Drive, C Drive, PP2 and Michelin XM1. Ride and silent tyres are more important for me than handling, so most probably it would be XM1 or C Drive. PP2 and XM1 are available in the configuration I am looking for, 185/ 60 R14.

Hi Guys,

I am expecting my Palio SLX to be delivered next week. Here is the tyre upsize I have in mind:

AURA E01455 5.5 x 14" PCD 98 alloys;
Michelin Enery XM1 185/65/r14 tubeless

Is this upsize good? Any recommendations welcome.

I also intend to upgrade the headlamps to Philips Vision Plus H4 bulbs. Can someone please tell me what is the OE headlamps on the SLX?

Hi,
Anyone has suggestions for 235/65-16 tyres for Bolero??

I was planning on putting the BF Goodrich A/T KO 235/70-16, but told that they scrape quite badly when fully laden. Some suggest its a very slight modification to raise the suspension stopper a little bit to get enough clearance. Please suggest; my Bolero will get delivered tomorrow....
