Guys.. Pls help me out.. Sai Iyenger and songs is recomending me to go for continental tyres.. according to him goodyear is "Not so good" in performance. His rating:
1.Continental
2.Yokohoma Es100
3. Bridgestone
4. Goodyear

Should I go in for 14" ?

Should I stick with 13" ?

What are the benefits or loses of 14"

If upgrade to 14" which size ? As mentioned in the forum guide 175/65/R14 would be great

does 195-60-R14 - hold good for upsizing in 1.3 OHC type II - 2002 model too ?

and tyres i am planning to - Bridgestone Potenza G3

My requirements are mild -

1. Should give me same mileage or rather better than stock tyres

2. Should give me same or rather better ride and comfort

3. Should give me same or rather better braking, better suspension effects for rear and front passengers.

4. Obviously better looks, but not exterme looks. I mean the correct and right looks it should have. NOt bulged outside and all -

5. My ride is both city and highway -

city average ride per month - 2000km
higway average ride per month - 2000km

so - 5000 of total km per month - approximately -

6. I am a mild footer - atleast for Honda cars. Would love to extract max mileage from each drop of fuel, yes honda gives it to me - my NHC as of now -

7. Excellent grip I expect, since no ABS - and at times has tendency to drive above 120km/h - lol

Have the bridgestone s322 stock tyres on my friends' OHC - 1.3 exi - Type II - 2002 may model. It has run 28k km.

How much is the stock tyre life usually for OHC - 1.3 - 2002 model. For 28k km on Odo, it seems half balded - i hope should run another - 10 k km. IS this right.

Riders are excellent and mild drivers, not at all abused - been single handed for most part - i mean its family car -

Can an Ikon Flair stock tires be replaced with stock tires from a Swift ?

175/65/R14 to 165/80/R14.
Major OD difference,dude. But someone I know tried this on an Indigo for sakes of $ saving and ride comfort.

Whats the best size for a Corolla, keeping in mind ride comfort & noise factor:
195/60/15 or 195/65/15 ?
Original size is with 60 profile!

& which would be the best brand?

175/65 R14?? Are you sure? AFAIK the Flair is offered on 175/70 R13 or is my info outdated?

U are right, Flair comes with 175/70-13 GPS2 on 5j rims.

After the NXT models were launched all Ikons were standard 175/65 R14s 5j, were'nt they?

The Ikon website still shows the stock size as 175/70 R13.

The 1.6 version of the ikon had 175/65 r14..
1.3 comes with 175/70 r13.

Was there a Flair 1.6 offered on the Ikon?

IIRC the 1.6 was JOSH and 1.3 was FLAIR.

Eesh... will check the exact config of the tires on my 2004 1.3 Flair in the evening and post.

While crossing the tyres on my 800 (total 40000 kms/ wheels have been crossed once at 20,000km), noticed that the front right tyre is wearing off on the inside edge and should now be changed. The other three are fine. Still using stock CEAT tyres that have really served me well. Request your advise on the following:

1. Is it better to change both front tyres together or can it be done one at a time? I was planning to put the new tyre on the front left and the existing front left on the front right and use it a further 3 to 4000 kms.

2. If I change just one, is it imperative to stick to CEAT? Are tyres of various brands with same dimensions similar, or are there differences?

3. If I change both the tyres, should I stick to CEAT (they have really served me well)?

4. As I mostly drive in city rush (75% of total distance done), guess its best to stick to the same width and profile?

5. Does the wearing of only the inner edge indicate any problem with the alignment?
