Re: Rajputana Custom Motorcycles - Jaipur

Rajputana Customs are presently working on a Harley Street 750. The important fact here is that the bike has been commisioned to Rajputana Customs by none other than Harley Davidson India themselves. The custom bike may be showcased at Harley Rock Riders – Season V event scheduled to be held on 15th and 16th of November in Mumbai.

And here is the first WIP pic of the street 750. Looks like they are giving it a cafe racer look.

One of their worst works . Looks like a caricature , the body appears small , almost like a toy in contract to the fat ugly tires. And that exhaust !!! When one is screwing up the entire bike , why not just go the length and chuck in free flow shorties instead of the stock .

Yep, This one aint my cuppa tea either. Not what I expected from them. Brat-cafe-bobber styles can be pulled off much better.

But they are one of the few good/active customisers (I think) in India. So I think we should all support them.

They are one of the best aesthetic custom shop in the world not just India , the traditional metal works on some of their bikes are absolutely exquisite and unique in a custom scene with too many slammed bobbers with peanut tanks or cafe racers .

My guess is the budget was relatively moderate , their modest works (And this is modest by their standard ) normally demands 1.5/2L . HD should have demanded a custom fuel tank .

This particular bike is ruined by the radiator , I always thought the radiator greatly limits this as a radical custom platform because almost all harley customs involve slammed suspension and the lack of any space between the fat(that tire is in proportion to their 1600cc floats , not this bike) front wheel which was a bad choice and the frame looks so odd .

Ah they are good, Aesthetics is a matter of personal interpretation. Gimme the works of Ton-Up Garage or Cafe Racer Dreams anyday.

As far as its looks are considered. Yes like you said, the tyres are way too big. Not speaking in terms of engine capacity, but while just looking it does look quite oversized. Smaller tyres woulda complemented the slammed look better.

Rear cowl and seat really are not blending in smoothly. Coulda even dropped the rear cowl and gone for a nicer seat. Those front shocks don't complement the rest of the motorcycle.

I pretty sure that HD had put some limitation on cost or keeping the motorcycle still essentially a street 750 (i.e not doing too many alterations, tank et al). Else they might have done a lot more.

Regards

Re: Rajputana Custom Motorcycles - Jaipur

Great pics, thanks for sharing.

I figured by now they might have used those right side caliper mounts for a second disc brake setup. Sticks out a bit IMO.

As I am in Jaipur today, visited their workplace. If you see the place you cant imagine they dish out such mean machines. Looks like any common vehicle workshop. But boy do they have talent. Have been following their work for years. It was such a delight to be here..
