re: My 2002 Yamaha RXZ - Update: Now Sold!

This bike deserves to be resold to Yamaha for their museum for a few L. It is superbly restored.

Hey , the engine oil is leaking pretty badly from my bike . I took two trips to the mechanic who changes the oil seal but i'm still seeing the issue .

Now he tells me that i have to change the entire engine assembly . Is this correct ?

One simple change should solve the issue, Change your mechanic
Do post the snap where does it leak from. Changing oil seals alone will not support in few cases where the engine case is damaged (for such cases, aluminium welding + machining + new seals should make wonders)

re: My 2002 Yamaha RXZ - Update: Now Sold!

Just for a closure on this thread - long story, cutting it short. I moved to Japan (for I don't know how many years) for a new job and did not want my bikes to rot. Hence sold my RD350, RXZ and Shogun to close friends and dedicated bikers whom I know will take care of them. Tonnes of parts which I had collected for those bikes also went along with them.

I have kept only my RX135 4 speed which I bought brand new in 2005 (and still has done less than 17,000 km). I also retrieved my late father's 1992 Kinetic Honda DX (he passed away 21 years ago and the scooter was the last ride he ever owned). It is a big pile of rust with a completely stuck engine. Yet to start working on that project as I am away.

It was very very difficult to let everything go - but it was a decision I had to take, to move on in life.

Lucky chaps. Wish they should pamper these babies like you did.
I could understand how heavy your heart could be when you passed the keys. Anyways, all the best for your new assignments and hopping to see another thread on Kinetic restoration.
