Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS200 launched at Rs. 1.18 lakh

ACI review of the Pulsar RS200.

A quick look and I feel there are some bits which are not so bad.
1) Design - Yes, a bit overdone I feel
2) Handlebar looks inappropriate for a bike of this size (atleast, from the appearance)
3) Although they claim it sounds good, it felt like it was struggling.
4) Tires - Cant blame as all Indian bikes are of similar kind. It begs for wider tires.
5) ABS - Good one
6) Really liked the rear grab handle.
7) The brake light positioning is good

Now that we have many options from Duke, Kawasaki and now Benelli, we will have to wait and see how it fares.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS200 launched at Rs. 1.18 lakh

Hi Guys, I am literally on the run to get RS 200 asap since the launch. But initially the bike was launched in selected 17 cities only. No dealers listed in West UP and Dehradun. Nearest is Delhi NCR. I enquired with Delhi dealers but all said that temporary registration in U.P. will take longer and they could not deliver it to me before 1st week of May. I also contacted my local dealership as well as in Meerut & Dehradun but they are clueless when they will get the stock & will be able to deliver. They are not even taking the bookings apart from from one Vikrant Bajaj, Meerut which is booking at a huge token amount of 50k as compared to official booking amount of 5k. But again no promise of delivery date. All dealers are expecting stocks by mid-May and delivery by end of May or so.
Anybody from Meerut, Ghaziabad or Dehradun can throw some light on it and help me get it sooner ?

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS200 launched at Rs. 1.18 lakh

Mod Note: Our Pulsar RS200 ride report has been taken live at this link. Please continue the discussion over on the new thread. Thanks!

As someone who was seriously considering the RS 200 for his first bike, I feel disappointed.

1. I'd take the clean styling of the R15 or the CBR. The 200's side profile is just overwhelming. Yes, it is growing on me, but still.

2. I think they really should have launched the bike in black for 2 reasons.
(i) Black is a safe and default choice for many people (including me).
(i) It would have helped mute the overdone styling.

3. When Bajaj say the RS is ' the fastest pulsar ever', they seem to be referring to the top speed. Acceleration seems to be slower than the 200 NS because of increase in weight but minimal increase in power. For me at least, the bike is going to spend 100% of its life as a city commuter and therefore acceleration is more important to me.
