Re: For the love of riding : My Suzuki Access 125!

I am thinking of changing the tyres before the monsoon sets in. The stock Ceat tyres (Disc-brake variant) are turning hard after about a year and some 9600kms. Also, they tend to lose air pressure pretty fast.
Any suggestions? Does Michelin have the front tyre size for the Access?

Check Michelin City Pro, should be available in both tube type & tubeless.

The below table has details upto 9th Servicing.

For the love of riding : My Suzuki Access 125!-suzuki-access-service-schedule.jpg

As you can see, within 90-days or 3000 KMs: Whichever occurs earlier.
Hope this helps.

Re: For the love of riding : My Suzuki Access 125!

Firstly, sorry to StepUp for using his thread for raising this query as there is no dedicated thread for gearless vehicles.

Mods please move it if required.

Can someone tell me a place in Bangalore where I can buy Access 125 accessories outside the showroom. Find them pricey. Will be picking up just a couple of stuff from the showroom and the rest would prefer to buy from another source. Taking delivery of my Blue Disc model this weekend.

Thanks in advance

Re: For the love of riding : My Suzuki Access 125!

Hello

Is anyone facing timing chain noise issues with the new Access 125? My scooter which has done about 14k kms had its timing chain changed recently after many complaints from me about a whirring noise from the engine.
This noise is mostly heard when you raise the idling a bit and let it settle down.

Also, what oil are most of you using? Anyone using a 10W30 ?

Thanks

Any idea about used prices for scooters? My access is just over 2 years old. It has been running great so far, but since I got the confirmation of an Ather scooter, I want to give it up and buy the Ather.

Given that the Access is very popular in the market and hence I assume has a decent resale value, what is the depreciation I should expect for my scooter?

There is surely a weird tappet kind of noise, mine has done only 6K km! Somehow engine is not as smooth as it was. Service guys have no clue, so not sure what to do about it.

Except for this, its flawless.

Re: For the love of riding : My Suzuki Access 125!

Get it checked. The timing Chain issue did reduce my scooters overall performance and efficiency.
The noise is best heard when you raise the idling and then let it settle down.
I’ve also replaced the fork oil in the scooter with a higher weight oil. So far, the result is good and the extra-soft front suspension now feels planted.

Just an FYI, I was able to finalise a deal for 50K for my scooter. Absolutely top class condition with almost 0 scratches on the body, 12K run in 2 years and regularly serviced with actual records available.

I could've got a few thousand more, but I liked the buyer and have had experiences in the past where the guy hasn't transferred the vehicle to his name so wanted to sell to someone I can trust

Re: For the love of riding : My Suzuki Access 125!

Cross-posting from another thread, mods may delete if redundant:

I just got my brand new Access' first service done at the 40-day mark, with hardly 300 KMS on the odo.

Everything is fine but the trouble is - ever since the 1st service, it SEEMS just a touch less smooth, acceleration seems a tad reduced, and I can feel marginally more vibes at around 30, especially when I let go of the throttle while trundling in traffic.

1st service was a quick, simple affair on the surface however I didn't like a few things like the service center adding some 3M additive to the engine oil which they mentioned is usual practice there.

Are these extra vibes normal, or a result of this additive maybe (especially on a brand-new engine), or something else with maybe some overzealous tightening etc of some nuts/bolts etc by the service guys. OR it maybe nothing at all with just my OCD with mechanical things raising it's head here.

It's a brand new scooter, and overall seems fine, and I don't want to let the ASS guys mess around with it anymore for what is in any case a trivial thing.

Help?

Re: For the love of riding : My Suzuki Access 125!

I purchased Access 125 SE disc version. I have completed 500 kms in 10 days. I'm getting a mileage around 52 kmpl. I had a Wego for a year ( 2011 ) , later purchased Aviator disc in 2015. As my wife did not feel comfortable riding Aviator, I had to sell within 6 months. Let me provide a quick comparison between the three.

Wego:
1. I feel TVS Wego has the best stability of the three. The headlamp was good and even after driving around 10k kms I used to get mileage between 45-47 kms /lit. TVS lacked quality control. Battery failed within a year. I could see slight oil leak around the engine block before I had to sell and leave for US
OEM provided tires were TVS and were okay for Bangalore roads.

2. Aviator Disc: Driven for 5k kms. Need time to get used to the higher seat position. But once you are comfortable, she becomes very agile.

Disc provided from Honda are the best, really good bite. She has the biggest fuel tank of 6 litres ( may be the largest in India among scooters ). Mileage around 50 kmpl. I used semi synthetic jaso mA2 oil for the complete duration.

Engine never felt stained when driven solo. Front suspension were good but rear ones were hard. Did not have adequate power for ferrying around 2 people.

OEM provided tires were from MRF and were better than Ceat provided in Access

3. Access 125 SE disc: Very light and engine never feel strained even at 70. Surprisingly I am getting more mileage even though I do drive at 60 with pillion. Seats and suspension set up is really suited for 2 people. The way she soaks up the broken roads is quite impressive. The behavior is quite opposite when driven solo.

OEM provided tires are Ceat xoom D/XL. I really did not like these. Does not provide adequate grip and I'm thinking to change the rear tyres to Micehlin.

Suzuki should have provided a clock which I miss dearly. Vehicle is light and Suzuki should have provided a 8 litre fuel tank. The disc break lacks bite. I replaced the original round chrome mirrors with the normal ones. I could barely see anything in the round mirrors.

Just buy the normal disc version and add a mobile charging port for Rs.260. Steel grill was quite expensive. Dealer quoted Rs.3500, I got it done outside for Rs.900 ( Hyderabad ). Even though Suzuki manages to sell 45k units monthly, not many workshop stocks part for Access.

I'm thinking not to do the first service at service center. Rather I'll purchase jaso MB spec semi synthetic oil from outside. Did anyone try out MAK lubricants ?

Congratulations on your ride, I have also brought home the standard disc with CBS version in Sonoma Red color. It is unregistered so the usage is minimal. I was deciding between this and the Ntorq, but finally the Access was selected as I found it a more comfortable and smooth. Also the Access is considerably lighter than the Ntorq.

Like you, I am also thinking of changing the tires, the Ceat's do not inspire any confidence. My wife is smitten by the chromed round mirrors, will buy them during the first service.

I wish the Access came with a 12 inch rear wheel as opposed to the 10 inch one. Also wish the clocks were more informative. Other than this, I am happy with my purchase.
