Is it possible that your idle rpm is set a bit high ? Does the rear wheel turn on its own when the bike is running and kept of centre stand ?

Re: Another Italian joins the stable - Our Matt Red Vespa 150

^^ Idle RPM was made high during delivery since the engine was turning off while idling.
So, I went on Sunday and the lowered the RPM from 850 to 750.
I see a little less vibration now, but it is still there.
I checked another Vespa with 10000 KM on it and it also has some vibration, but lesser than what I have.

I am also concerned about how easy it is to steal the wing mirrors. Just a gentle push and the mirror assembly becomes lose. Got it tightened as well, but it is still very easy for anyone to steal this without any tools.

The service center guy said 'this is aluminium, and tightening too much would spoil the thread' pointing to the part where the threads are, and 'this is how it is on Vespa'.

Is it so?

Are you supposed to let the motor idle at RPM's lower than 1000?

Asking as ideally the RPM is set above 1k RPM's so that the auto-decompressor is disengaged which ensures that the motor idles without stalling.

Re: Another Italian joins the stable - Our Matt Red Vespa 150

@TorqueyTechie does your center stand of your Vespa SXL touch the speed breaker when two people sit on it?

I am having this problem as my center stand keeps touching 5 out of 10 speed breakers.

I have a S125. My stand is a bit loose and I have to push it up once I remove the scooter from it. The stand doesn't touch speed breakers usually, but it does touch the ground when taken over potholes at a relatively higher speed.

Sorry I somehow missed your post. Yes it does touch few speedbreakers when I ride with a pillion. But it happens on ones which are either huge or if it is added crudely. I have learned to live with it and ride around it if possible or slowly and diagonally.

Nothing to add with respect to our Vespa. I have moved to UK and the vehicle is now being driven by my FIL. Service is being done regularly and no niggles except the fuel indicator which is very erratic. During every service , it gets added as the only complaint and nothing is being done to fix it.

Today there was a Vespa riders meet in the same building where I stay. So I had an opportunity to see around 50-60 vespa's (& lambrettas) which had come for the meet. It would be an understatement if I say I was happy. I was so joyous seeing them that I forgot I was roaming around taking snaps in my night shorts and tee in the midst of well dressed (& some with riding gear) folks. Attaching few snaps that I took. Some of them do have to be in weird and wacky thread for sure. Apologies for not so good pics.

Look at the number of headlights plus mirrors over the next few ones.

You will love the vehicle but might hate the A.S.S (I am not sure how it is in Chennai). We had planned to book in this color too but was not available for us and then booked the matt red .
