The exhaust note is pretty cool if you ask me. R3 sounds great, specially to the rider. To other road users who move along (in our case a GT Tsi), the exhaust note is audible but not as great as it is to the rider. Check this video out, I was doing 10000 rpm at 5th.

Suspension is soft, but not intrusive to handling, even when taken on corners enthusiastically. Guess metzelers do their part too. I found it exactly as soft/hard as my CBR. An experienced rider can take R3 around corners and have fun, but not to the extent of RC though.

Clutch is extremely light, single finger shifts!

Kamal, Mahesh, Vignesh, Niranjan and Goutham (CGB) arrived at Trichy on saturday evening. We started by 9am the next day. Benji and family drove from Madurai and joined us at Trichy, Tamilkumaran rode from Karaikudi and met us in Trichy. We rode to Namakkal, and then to Kolli hills.

I was keen on riding R3 on hills, and ended up doing so for the entire uphill length (70 hairpins). R3 impressed me so much that I was almost as fast on R3 as I would be on my RC390. I wish brakes were sharper like in RC and slipperclutch was there. ABS kicks in early too. Also footpegs could be rear set, I scraped them quite a few times!
But if you are experienced, you can have truckloads of fun on R3 on corners, thanks to Metzelers!

This was the only time i rode RC 390 on the hills. I wanted others to experience the bliss full experience of telepathic handling of RC on hills.

Same curve, same rider(me ), same line and almost exact entry speed. Look at how similar both the leans are. RC must be slightly leaned more, very slight difference.

Just to emphasise about how R3 handling has become really impressive with metzelers.

I think you werent looking into the turn like you are on the RC else would have leaned more on the R3 too! But the RC surely has less visual bulk like its been on a diet.
But those two pics are so exactly similar that they might pass off as morphed to a casual eye. What are the chances of clicking 2 such similar pics at the same location. Seems like your favourite riding route.

I was indeed looking into the turn but my head wasn't turned.
Both the pics were screenshots from the video I have posted in the previous post. Both pics were taken in a matter of difference of a few minutes. Yes, Kolli hills is our favourite riding destination. I have done Kolli 5 times so far on - CBR250R, 2014 Duke 390, 2017 Duke 390, Electra 350, FZ1, RC 390 and R3.

Let me take Prassy's seat here. Familiarity breeds contempt. If you've been following his Duke 390 thread, he's been taming the same corner for an epic second ownership so in that case, he CAN and WILL take the same line, eyes closed. Gosh! This really cracked me up.
