Both Overdrive & Motorbeam show the odo/trip meters on their LCD console explanation part and odo/trip is at 38/35km. The vehicles are unregistered and both reviewers said that they had it for a short time. The event was held at Della Adventures, Lonavala. This was evident on social media, nothing to hide here! Ideally, these vehicles will be registered and serve as test ride vehicles at different showrooms. May be it seems evident for manufacturers to launch a new vehicle at the fag end of a year to start production only in the new year as there are very few takers for an older year manufactured vehicle!

(Same is the case for RE Meteor, waiting periods are increasing, only first batch dispatched, new batches in 2021) RE for instance gives registered TD vehicles.

Same was observed for KTM 250 Adventure, media vehicles, they were on Temp registration (TC). RTO has some process to add a new vehicle for registrations. May be some timelines didn't match and the event went ahead with TC vehicles.

Prospective buyers, wait a bit longer and take delivery of 2021 made vehicles in 2021.

Happy riding!

Yes ideally. But then what was a vehicle which was manufactured in Baramati doing in Lonavala and then ended up in a showroom in Mumbai for sale? Only the SV road showroom is giving TD on a white SXR160.Even that vehicle has its speedo disconected. To me it seems like some of the dealers are selling the first batch of vehicles which were already used as media vehicles. Better to wait till middle of January if someone wants to buy it.

SR150 has excellent brakes. Except hard suspension everything else is so good about SR150. Hope SXR160 is of the same pedigree with a soft suspension setup. This bike is definitely a rocket on roads.

Wonder where our Vespa Guru @hillram is? I'm eagerly awaiting his response on Aprilia SXR160.

You never know he would pop-up with his new maxi scooter.

You better get your burgy checked as I don't have any issues in doing 90kph all day on my BS4 Burgman. It reaches 95 kph pretty quickly after which it kind of takes time to cross 100. I even touched an indicated 108, on a long deserted stretch.

If the brakes are jammed then the front wheels will lock even at higher speeds. The front end has to be loaded up gradually up for tyres to get max traction before the braking pressure is increased

It's not slow enough to warrant an inspection. Just saying it's not as quick as my 100cc activa was. I wonder if the bs6 versions will be even more nuetered.

Re: Piaggio unveils Aprilia SXR 160 & SXR 125 at Auto Expo 2020

Checked out all the main reviews/reviewer views on the SXR, everyone proclaims the suspension on the SXR to be comfortable compared to the SR, as if that’s a big deal. Compared to the SR any other scooter suspension should be comfortable

Only, the Motorbeam reviewer speaks directly on this by saying “if you are looking for a comfortable suspension, look elsewhere”. An important parameter to note for our beautiful roads. Of course, otherwise it a good looking scooter for sure. Love to hear the thoughts of our team as and when available.

In the event a scooter buy is not urgent, I would suggest waiting, as Suzuki may come out with a bigger Burgman to compete with Aprilia. Something around the 200cc mark should be a sweet spot for a maxi scooter.

Cheers

What i have gripes with is that when i visited the showroom yday i happened to notice a blue colored SXR160 which had the same Della resort tags. It was something odd which is why it kind of stuck with me. I cannot confirm if this was the same vehicle from the review videos but ....
These could be test drive vehicles that were arranged by the nearest showroom for the reviews. Was this held for sale or was it a TD scooter?

As far as reviews go, mostly manufacturers invite the journalists and cover all expenses, this is hardly a kickback.

These vehicles in the showroom were for sale and not for TD.

But doesn't the Activa have a top speed of 83 kmph?

Then the actual speed is different. Speedos usually go a lot above the vehicle's actual top speed.
