Honda has announced that it will launch a new motorcycle on September 30, 2020.

The new premium bike is believed to compete with Royal Enfield in the 300-500cc segment. Rumours suggest that Honda could be planning to introduce the Rebel 300 or a modified version of the bike sold in the international market.

Honda also has a variety of 500cc bikes in its global portfolio, which could be offered in India. These include the CB500X, CBR500R and the CB500F.

What we do know is that the new motorcycle will be sold through the Honda Big Wing retail network. It will be the most affordable bike in Honda's premium range.

'Your highness' seems to hint at the flagship CBR 1000 RR-R. Hope the pricing is realistic, and not as per the earlier rumours of around 30L.

Unless Honda really wants to fight 'Royal' Enfield with a similar sounding tagline! :D

Is it Honda Rebel 300/500?

Interesting teaser indeed. If i were to decrypt, it reads "Royal" and sound waves(thump??) :)

But i doubt if such branding goes well with "rebel" series. So, waiting for them to leak some more information.

Hope it isn't any other 150-160cc bike with a overhyped price, just cant trust Honda anymore.

Its the silver wing logo, so 300cc+ bike.

I just hope its not the bs6 goldwing.

As per me only Goldwing qualifies to be addressed as 'Your Highness'. 'Majestic launch', it surely would be. Rebel is a commuter spec vehicle overseas, or maybe they're hyping it up for India. Can't say for sure

Oddly enough was just looking at the Rebel 500 this afternoon and I noticed that in Indonesia it sells for a price considerably higher than the 650 twins while offering similar power figures. I love how it looks and generally a sucker for bobbers and the like, but otherwise I don't understand how it would be able to compete.

Good one. They have already listed goldwing on their website. so assuming this is something new(I see all other superbikes being listed there)

CBR 1000RR-R was listed after the bookings announcement on July 31st, but the prices are yet to be revealed.

As per the original announcement - price announcement and deliveries were supposed to happen by August end.

Never look at Indonesia as a guide for motorbike pricing. They have a crazy tax structure where bikes <250cc are priced well while anything > 250cc attract crazy taxes. Thats why the KTM duke 250 is some 2.3l over there but the Duke 390 costs a crazy 5l converted. So the Rebels are overpriced there as even the smallest Rebel is 300cc which over the 250cc tax exemption limit.

However Honda is definitely expensive. In the US the Rebel 500 is still a bit higher priced than the Interceptor 650 though they both offer similar power figures.

Ah ok. I wasn't aware of this. I relied on maxabout for the figures. Thanks for the clarification.

Love that engine note !! Will that be a Rebel 500? I was thinking that it could be the Adventure - 500x

With that kind of thump, it's crystal clear that they're targeting customers who're looking at a Royal Enfield. Don't know if it's going to be the Rebel as it has a different exhaust note.

Every other manufacturer badly wants to grab a chunk of the pie that RE has made its own. Anyway, more the competition, that better it is for the customer!
