re: Which motorcycle? I have 24 hours to choose. Edit: Bought RE Bullet 350

I personally believe that the Himalayan seems like the perfect fit for you, as it is comfortable while being relatively powerful to do decent highway speeds. But if your mind is set on the Bullet 350, I guess you should go for that. It's a simple and mostly mechanical vehicle for which you can do DIY for most things, Excellent comfort, even for the pillion, and is a traditional Long Stroke Engine. The only downside is the relatively low cruise speeds when compared to the 650 twins and Himalayan, and the Vibrations. The Bullet will be a great choice if you can live with these small niggles.

I'd be more worried about the pillion. Pillion footpegs are rear set which results in an awkward stance - which the majority will hate.

Knowing you and your penchant for listening and accepting advice from the forum and the fact that you already made up your mind and want to be convinced otherwise, a huge congrats on your new Bullet 350.

Bullet 350. Black one with gold pinstriped tank.

And then try making it sound like a Bullet.

re: Which motorcycle? I have 24 hours to choose. Edit: Bought RE Bullet 350

Ola Amigos!

After a lot of running about I was able to find a suitable steed and made the payment in full in order to get an expedited delivery as well as before a second thought could take formation.

And this is it;

Which motorcycle? I have 24 hours to choose. Edit: Bought RE Bullet 350-booking.jpg

P.S. The Image as well as the wordings would give you contradictory cues so do bear with me for a bit.

More details would be divulged after the official reveal.

Thanks Everyone!

In the rare occasions you want the navigation, you can use.
I simply don't know, I just don't want to pay for that afterthought.

If it were a plug and play accessory then I'd be able to make peace by selling the tripper unit as soon as I got my hands on the motorcycle and then use the socket for something more useful, say a 12V Socket?

Since its a permanent fixture it somehow rubs me the wrong way, which again might be cause the so called upcoming "updated" model is causing a hold-up in availability, neither in mine or nearing districts could I find an unsold piece, which later led to some extra strings being pulled here and there since I really did like the motorcycle for its ergonomics and tractability.

Couldn't find one at my home district so had to look at the next district and finally found 2 pieces, one in Orange and the other in Silver.

After spending some time on the saddle with a pillion of similar dynamics as my better half we were not really impressed with the motorcycles ergonomics for the pillon.

But I have to say the idea of owning a multi cylinder and the social mileage it brings about sure was tempting.

No pre-owned motorcycles, I really like having a roof under my head. When the family got wind that I was aiming to get the TBTS 500 from a fellow enthusiast which I was set to pickup on the 27th, everyone at home started throwing tantrums and that's what had led to this thread.

She's still running fine after the restoration, I use her for local errands where I'd have to carry a lot of stuff as the boot space is very much appreciated.

Once my father is back in the country it would be gifted to him as he used to own a variant of the Vespa back in the day and still holds those memories close to heart.

I am however a bit disappointed that you are confining your search only to the RE stable. If I may, I suggest you explore the seconds market for something more exotic.
What can I say, I have a thing for motorcycles generally perceived to be unreliable.

Jokes apart, I'm pretty bored of riding my Bajaj's, they're too reliable to be any fun.

Can't venture into the used market as that would render me homeless, after going for the Alto the family is still pissed at me and going for a used motorcycle especially a month before getting hitched would be enough to drive them over the edge.

Riding Pillion is what I was going on about, this is me without a rider in place, with one in place the squat increases causing great discomfort for the Pillion.

That Gold Pinstripe comes at a premium of 6k, I can understand the "hand-painted" novelty but its just not for me. Money spent on aesthetics never sit well with my conscience.

Speaking of Aesthetics there's a variant of the C350 that comes in a shade called Orange Ember, comes at a premium of 2~3K IIRC over the regular one, I'm pretty sure if one looked at it for a while it would induce nausea.

Irrespective of motorcycle the Engine and its components remain stock.

EAST or WEST, STOCK is BEST!

Cheers,
A.P.

I look at the loss of a spark plug (On a bike like this) on a more positive note as that's one less of a component that can go wrong.

With regard to the crank weight, I guess only someone from Royal Enfield can answer that question. Might as well post a query on their Twitter account. Another way (maybe unproven) is to listen to the way the bike idles.

The seat comfort is usually the result of the pads sinking in over a long duration. Can be easily solved from a local seat shop. More than seat comfort, its the rider and pillion posture that make this bike comfortable. Its not cramped. You sit tight on pretty much any other Royal Enfield.

Actually the benefit of having two plugs other than better combustion(which I doubt would be needed with the EFI in place) is that if for whatever reason one conks off you can still ride home on the other.

Has happened to a friend of mine with his P220.

The center electrode was blown clean off, and yet other than a bit of throttle lag he didn't face much concerns, I on riding the same motorcycle presumed it to be an air leak causing the lag. Imagine our surprise when we pulled the plugs to check state of tune.

Idling is higher on the EFI models. And can't be manually adjusted IIRC, at least not on the latest closed loop systems, as for the open loop ones maybe possible as they even came with a manual Enricher(Choke).

I'd asked a friend and fellow enthusiast who works with RE and he has confirmed that the Kick-Only models do come with the 10+kg cranks, this is to ensure that they start up easily.

Since you already decided, finalized and settled with 3 options and don't want any questions I say go for bullet 350 and make your own bells and wishtles on it.

Happy Riding mate!!

24 hours over. Curious to know what did you decide upon? Did you book something today? Or still waiting for poll results for your decision?

What ever you decide, let me be the first one to congratulate you on your new bike purchase.

All the very best. Wish you very happy mile munching moments

I would blindly suggest Bullet 350. The only reason anyone can add along with the other two is the charm of old school. If anyone add logic, this can be out of the list and no questions at all.

By the way I just realized time is over. Share what's concluded.

Thanks,

Good choice. The comfort and posture of the Bullet is something that once gotten used to, will be hard to get on another bike of the same segment.

It is not a fast bike nor a slow one and that helps when on the highway. It something of a slow and steady wins the race kind of bike. At least that is how it is on my Electra.

Happy riding and with a simple UCE engine in it, I am sure it will be fun tinkering with it as well. And like how the CI 350 was stopped many years ago, this probably is the last Bullets in UCE avatar.

Interesting and makes sense. In a world where companies are looking at just margins, I am surprised RE offer a heavier crank for the kick start models. They could have just left it with a light crank, leaving the customer at the receiving end when it comes to starting the bike.

Congratulations on the booking. I refrained from commenting earlier because I am also in the same boat as you visiting RE showrooms.

I have set a personal goal to reward myself with it. Your choice might have an influence on mine. So please write the ownership post asap after taking delivery.

Being a RE350 guy, I would recommend the Interceptor 650. Much superior product and peace of mind is guaranteed. The Classic 350 is not the best bike to live with especially because I've been facing a few issues with the chain at just 8k kms.
