Also because of the pillion comfort being the primary want. Bullet/Classic pillion seats get uncomfortable after a while.
I'm 'guessing' the Himalayan will be more serviceable than the Interceptor, plus it's a vastly improved product. |
The Himalayan is a wonderful machine and its Ergo touches me in ways no other motorcycle has done before, the way they've made the handlebar sit high up without actually using longer bars that induce flex is really something our shores haven't experienced before, at least in such scales.
The only concern I have with it is scoring a piece that doesn't come with the Tripper Crapper.
I've notified a few showrooms in my vicinity and they're yet to update me with their stock lists, a friend and fellow enthusiast from TVM is also reaching out to showrooms there as we've got wind that there is a stock shortage for some models due to upcoming releases.

For someone that loves to wring the throttle as wide open as possible to get the maximum out of its motor, the Himalayan would be suitable, pillion comfort being a given.
If I was to select between the 3, I would factor in the height of my regular pillion. About 5ft 4in or less and Interceptor 650 would be a done deal. Else the Himalayan, lastly the 350 (especially given that it's due for a non-cosmetic "upgrade"). |
I am uncomfortable riding pillion on the Interceptor as the seating position is inline with that of using an Indian Toilet, which I believe has to do with my 5'11 figure.
But my significant other is only about 5'4.5 so I was wondering of the possibilities of it working out.
I'm no fan of riding the motorcycle as I wasn't able to connect with it, seems like a Buffet meal that has all the bells and whistles but lacks taste. But then again it is an international offering like the Himalayan and I'd sheepishly seen videos of the same by Bennet Bikes where they compare it to the likes of the Triumph Street Twin and Kawasaki W800 which did spike my interest in the context that it would have good Heirloom value albeit it running on EFI.
Also there is the Typical Indian notion of getting the perceived best for ones budget. That is making me contemplate it, though deep down I know that it poses a higher chance of heartbreak in the future.

You're absolutely right, but the reason for contemplation is that this would most likely be my last motorcycle purchase so I thought I'd get your insights on my choices before finalizing in the hopes of avoiding regret.

500 isn't available anymore.
Though in hindsight I chanced upon a 2014 TBTS 500 owned by a fellow enthusiast who'd left the country, brilliant condition and with a shade under 50k on the odo but after the stint with the Alto I'm supposedly banned from going for a used motorcycle. Else it would've been a wonderful buy at a very reasonable price.
As for the 350, owning a pushrod has been a long time dream and the case with the seat does sway in its favor but now I'm a bit skeptical as ManasN95 mentioned that the seat does get uncomfortable after a while, have experienced the same with the Classic's pillion seat but not so much with the Electra's, presuming its the same that the Current B350's come with.
A few points I've noted is that in the BS6 Iteration other than the addition of EFI, RE has dropped a plug on the 350's its no more TwinSpark.
Also there is a variant called Bullet X, it has a KS only option but they're unable to confirm on the Crank Weight, as there is a lack of clarity whether all KS Bullet's come with 10KG cranks or only a selected few do.

I do not have the mental capacity to own another short stroke. Wonderful value KTM offers(with the D390, ADV Doesn't make sense to me) but I am totally fed up with screamers and would love to get a thumper, cause with the CT100 I can at least wring its neck and have some fun but on bigger capacity bikes I'd be spending the remainder of my youth shifting between 2~3/3~4 Gears Courtesy KL Road Conditions.
Even my P220 rarely sees the 5th cog when ridden here.
