I got it at company store in Jayanagar, Bengaluru. I was plain lucky one piece came in while my bike was being prepped as I enquired about it in the morning theh asked me if ai would like to buy it and I said yes.

I see you got the touring seat installed, does your seat also move around at the front near the tank, I want to make sure that it is not a problem with just my bike.

Bro my seat had issue as well, at the time of delivery i didnt noticed as i was too happy to take bike. But while touring i noticed whenever i sit on bike it was making noise, specially when pillion sit on it. So during the first service i asked them to check, and they found that there should be a clamp, missing under the seat, not the back of the seat under the seat. The one you will see behind the seat you will need allen key to tight, which i did tight, but missing thing was clamp under it. Get it checked at service centre.

This was also an issue i forgot to mention in my post.

Hi all, Has anyone tried upgrading rear suspension ?? Most of the reviews including users’ are calling the suspension very hard. There are some after market interceptor upgrades available but not sure if they would fit SM650. Please advise.

I have a question as you own the celestial variant, I have installed touring seat as an accesory however I found out they the seat moves around a bit at the front end is it the same with the OEM fitted touring seat.

Hi, I am not facing any such issues on the bike. The touring seat was preinstalled at the factory and is working fine.

The suspension settles down in about 2-3 months of riding. I would suggest you bear it for a quarter and then decide whether you want to go down this path.

I have read forum discussions on a UK based forum where people talk about YSS shocks (part number:- RE302 320T-32-88), but they won't be cheap. And, YSS is cheaper than Ohlins which may have better shocks for our use-case.

p.s: If you have the base model seat, firmer cushioning in the seat *may* also help at a fraction of the cost.

So you have to be sure if you can live with it. I could not. I know some of you will hate me for saying negative about this bike but, this is what i felt and And before it was too late i decided to sell it. It was hard and i lost some money but still i think i made right decision.

So the moral of my story is please take long rides on costly bike, city use are fine, and you will not feel any issue. but its when touring you will get an idea on how bad or good it is. And dont ever fall on youtube journalist's hype.

Thanks for sharing your opinion directly as real time experience of fellow members is the USP of TeamBHP for me until now. The 650 should have been liquid cooled like the 450, no compromise. The BS4 650 wasnt heating that much but the BS6s seem to be an "iron box", like one of my friends said. Add to that the weight at low speeds and you have a no-win situation. I really feel for HD Fat Boy owners.
No journalist is exactly you, always take a test ride. MotorInc is very clear in stating take a test ride, the bike is yours after you take delivery, how you feel matters. I did not even test ride the bike based on their review as it was a niche motorcycle, not yet ready for our roads except smooth highways and certainly not a daily use motorcycle. I almost always never follow the dealers route of test ride or will make laps of the same circuit if need be, insisting that the fuel be atleast 25%, even escalating to RE management if I dont get a positive experience. Trust me it worked as I got a 10 km experience in total of both Interceptor and Himalayan and I am a happy Himalayan owner, just outgrew its power.

How is this company store in terms of experience? Then how is the service? Do you recommend it? Someone is planning to get his bike from there, so asking

I didn't feel too much of a difference in terms of experience, I just felt they were a bit more professional and knowledgeable. Service I did not go to the company store, I did it at a dealership near my house. I have heard that the company store service is better. I plan to go there for 3rd service.

Whatever you do, don't go to Electronic City Motors at Kudlu Gate or Bommasandra Motors at well, Bommasandra. Both are beyond horrible.

They're better than most others, yes, but not amazing per se. Do try it out, though. Its generally very crowded on holidays :Frustrati

Went to Mount Abu ride from A'bad 500km (total). with my wife, and same way both of us a are happy for 100km and after that we really felt the jerks and knee pain on both of us, specially on right side. And both of us were tired when we reached at destination. Breaks on road kind of gone up after 100km.

Now that you mentioned the knee pain issue, it set me thinking. I have a Meteor 350 since the last two years, used it extensively over 23000kms. There has been a constant nagging pain in my rt knee eversince I started riding this bike, never attributed it to the bike though, blamed my ripe old age of 58! However, since the last three weeks, I have added a Triumph Speed 400 to my garage, have ridden it for 400 kms only, but the knee pain has vanished, yesterday took the Meteor out to my office, a 50km round trip and the rt knee pain resurfaced, specially when pressing the rear brake. Today, switched back to the Triumph, no pain! I too bought the Meteor falling for the media and influencer hype, the Triumph was purely a head decision, I wanted a lighter bike, a more powerful bike and a higher bike, the Speed 400 checked all the boxes so I went ahead. Considered the Duke390 too but it wasn't 'Age appropriate' Cheers!:)

Can you name the dealer please? I am from Ahmedabad and looking for a bike from RE.

Royal Enfield introduces a new connected vehicle solution called Wingman.

This is currently available only on Super Meteor 650 and as per RE, this will be slowly rolled out to other models.

YSS has one. Part number is RE302 320T-32-88.

Super Meteor owners struggling with ride quality may give this a shot.

I can completely relate to your problem with the SM650. From the outside it does look like a bike that you can tour on, and most of the people riding this bike won't have an issue either.

I faced similar issue with Yamaha FZ6R and the Kawasaki Ninja 1000. These bikes are sports tourers and technically you should be comfortable doing long distances on them.

But for some reason I could never be comfortable on those bikes for more than 150 kilometres. Upto 150 kilometres I wouldn't feel any fatigue. However, post that my knees would start hurting and I would get exhausted at a rapid phase. Anything beyond 300 kilometres was just a test of endurance.
Mind you I could do 1000 kilometres in a day on the Ninja 650, Versys 650 and I would never feel so tired.

So yes, you have a valid point, however it is not always possible to get a longish test ride to get a feel of the ergonomics.
