Excellent review abhoumick. Thank you for the finer elements that you brought out. I strongly believe that your inline review within a thread, actually deserves a dedicated thread. Maybe you can consider an ownership report; with some fine snaps of your dragon.

Ride safe.

Re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Review | Initial Ownership Report

I am an erstwhile 1st-generation Bajaj Avenger (180cc) owner, who rode his bike for 9 years before I sold it in 2015. I used to use it for daily commute to and fro from office as well as for long road trips. I remember the Avenger having a compliant but slightly firm ride. Still it was very comfortable for short durations of upto 2-3 hours non-stop on that w-i-d-e saddle. Beyond that, a short break would be needed.

I have always been drawn to cruisers, for their low stance and wide look, with a focus on lazy riding. I am happy to say that I have recently booked a Super Meteor 650 Celestial Blue and I am looking forward to the delivery and the rides to follow!

Re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Review | Initial Ownership Report

Took a short test rides of the SuperMeteor 650 and Bear 650 in the city just to see the offerings of Royal Enfield in 2024.

Some observations
> The weight is manageable in slow traffic. I am 175cm, 60 kg. The handlebar did not feel weighted and the weight is distributed properly with a low centre of gravity.
> Gear shifts are smooth and easy to adjust to the forward controls. The heel shifter is useful for faster shifts
> The twin exhaust had a sweet note and I found myself revbombing and rev matching constantly.
>The turning radius is a bit wide but the bike does not try to dive like my Scram.
> Brakes are good for the weight and power of this bike. I found the rear brake too strong for my liking
>Overtakes are a breeze , in the city atleast. And the 40+ horses dont make you feel sluggish.

The dealer quoted 4.70 L onroad (Mumbai) for the Interstellar variant. I feel this can be a good laidback/ beginner friendly bike for someone looking to ride in 600+ segment. Its short height/light handling can make it accessible to most riders.

Excellent review. I could vouch for most of the points you mentioned, in the short test ride I took. I feel the rear suspension thing has been exaggerated out of proportion. It's really not that bone-jarring. I did take it on some bad roads specifically and it is not going to be a deal breaker, considering the intended style. Also, the weight feels lighter than other 650 models. If twin-cylinder budget friendly ADV's don't make it, my next upgrade would most probably be this.

Adding a preload and time makes it much more comfortable. Also handlebar risers make a huge difference.

Hope you get one! The 650 twin is a beautiful engine to ride.

Re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Review | Initial Ownership Report

Sorry everyone for not updating this thread after receiving my Super Meteor. Let’s rectify that right away. I got delivery of my bike on 10th March, 2024. Since I wanted to get every single Super Meteor accessory installed on my bike, I had everything on pre-order from the date of my bike’s booking. I managed to get almost all the accessories installed on the day of delivery itself, excluding the LED indicators as the dealership had conveniently forgotten to procure them inspite of me repeatedly following up with them over the months. Anyway, my ordeal with the dealership is a tale for another day. Soon after getting my bike I got busy procuring the best possible riding gear I could afford to compliment it. I already owned an Alpinestars all-weather riding jacket and matching Alpinestars gauntlet gloves before I decided to update my wardrobe. This time around I was going for a neutral colour theme for the whole gear; sticking to grays and black. The gear I procured and assembled is as follows:

Helmet (for city rides): Axor Jet Carbon Small Checks Helmet with Bubble Visor (already bought)

Helmet (for touring): Arai Quantic Black Citizen (already bought)

Riding jacket: Royal Enfield Riding Jacket - Black - (ordered)

Riding pants: Royal Enfield TSO Kar Riding Trousers - Black (already bought)

Gloves (for summer): Royal Enfield SMX-1 V2 Air Gloves - Black (already bought)

Boots (for city rides): Royal Enfield Marshall Boot - Brown (already bought)

Boots (for touring): Royal Enfield E-39 Mid Rise Riding Boot - Black (already bought)

Apart from the above I also bought a Royal Enfield headgear to wear under my helmets and Royal Enfield socks to wear inside my boots. This concludes my shopping spree.

I have joined the Delhi Royal Enfield Riders (DRER) group and am looking forward to my first long ride with my bike as me and 24 other riders make our way from Delhi to Kufri on the 14th of December. Will try and take some pictures and post them here for you all to see.

Catch you all later. Ride safe everyone!

Is there a more durable chain & sprocket available in the market as compared to the stock ?
