re: Yamaha Aerox | Issues, improvements, accessories & modifications

Recently I purchased a Vermillion Grey Aerox
Yamaha Aerox | Issues, improvements, accessories & modifications-2.jpeg

During TD I could witness the existing issues pointed by fellow members, like
- Harsh suspension
- Leg room
- Rear seat size / comfort
- Feeble side stand
- Fuel lid quality
- Mobile holder size
- Absence of HL Pass switch

What I couldn't experience was
- Head lamp illumination
- Rear seat accessibility for short people / kids

Other issues highlighted across other forums and social media
- Battery drain (due to BT module)

For suspension, there are various aftermarket solutions from Indonesia, Thailand & Philippines available, including OE KYB shocks, Ohlins and other brand adjustable shocks. Anyone using these aftermarket solutions? Kindly share your feedback.

Since stock HL couldn't be upgraded, planning to add Aux lights (Scout-x from maddog) Any other alternative should I consider?

First of all, I'm sure you don't need my suggestions as you know more than I do, but just trying to understand - Why it can't be upgraded, if I may ask please?

BTW, Congratulations on buying a superb performance & good VFM scooter

I meant, it's not an easy plug and play upgrade with conventional bulb type headlamp. Projector retrofit is the only viable option available.

Re: Yamaha Aerox | Issues, improvements, accessories & modifications

Dismo.motoshop (Instagram) have done some headlamp mods, do check it out. They also have suspension mods on offer. Their profile has some mad aerox mods.
Also check hyper.tourer (Instagram), he owns an aerox and also imports and sells accessories.
I am not planning headlamp mod right now, rear suspension and fuel tank (8L) is what I am planning for now.

Purchased Maddog Scout X a month ago and installed last night.

Costed 7350/- for a pair of lamps, wiring harness and switch

After exploring multiple options to mount the lamp, settled with this position

Fabricated a small bracket to mount the lamp on RVM stud

U bracket is a part of the lamp. A shorted bracket will be fabricated to reduce the height.

And the existing maddog switch will be replaced with a non-momentary circular switch, something like this (ordered one, but a wrong size)

Signal was tapped from the mobile charger socket as it was the nearest one and easy to tap without slicing / cutting any wires. Output snaps to follow shortly.

Best build I've seen. Well done. Bengaluru roads are much better than before, thanks to the elections so the suspension isn't bothering me. Can live with it

Do tell how your experience has been with this one and if you've tried any other aftermarket suspension. I have the same in Black, so curious to know if our experiences align

I'm yet to explore all the settings and different road condition.
Did a quick run with all soft settings and solo ride (100% of my use case) on rough roads and the difference is day-night. Once this unpredicted monsoon settles down, I'm planning to have a tuning ride.

Nope, based on feedback from reliable sources (users) I settled for KTC.

OTOH Stock suspension will undergo a spring transplantation in near future (after measuring the stock stiffness and damping force)

Based on my experience, you have the right preload for solo (as can be seen in your pics). For anyone else reading this in the future through Google Search, if you are a heavier person or you have a pillion often, then you will need to increase the preload (increase the ride height); otherwise, you will be bottoming out frequently under weight.
