| Report & Pics: India Bike Week 2023 @ Vagator, Goa December and Goa can mean only one thing - India Bike Week! 2023 saw the 10th anniversary of the IBW which is considered as one of the biggest biking festivals of Asia. I remember the last time I visited the IBW was in 2014 and it was an amazing experience witnessing the sheer passion for motorcycles and meeting like-minded individuals. This time around, the whole experience was 10x of everything! There was so much happening every minute from manufacturers showcasing their bikes, launches, endurance racing, motorsports, freestyle motocross bike stunts, biking gear on sale, amazing food, live music, and much more. Do check out our previous reports of the India Bike Week 2015 and 2016. ![]() Massive gate welcomed thousands of bikers and enthusiasts: ![]() 10 years and going strong! ![]() Box office is where you had to get your registrations done: ![]() The crowd kept pouring in all day long: ![]() A very helpful map of the layout for people to find their way: ![]() The scale of the event was quite impressive albeit my reference point was from over 9 years ago: ![]() ![]() This was the main stage where most of the important events were taking place: ![]() Behind the main stage was the Ladakh Tent where meets and greets with important people from the motorcycling community were arranged: ![]() This was also where the media was briefed about the event and what to expect: ![]() Martin da Costa (gentleman standing on the table), is the founder and CEO, 70EMG. | Modified bikes were among the biggest attractions at the IBW. It’s where bikers get to showcase their creativity, engineering, skill and expertise in building something that’s one of a kind. As always, the IBW was host to a ton of modified bikes. Many of them were a part of the biker build-off and mod bike competitions as well. Harley Davidson had given X440 bikes to select custom bike builders to create their versions that were showcased at the IBW: ![]() Here’s Vijay Singh from Rajputana Customs with his version of the X440 called the Project-X: ![]() These bikes were on display next to the Harley stall: ![]() The X440 custom is barely recognisable as the Project-X. It has got an extended front fork, wide handlebars, has lost a lot of weight, and the fuel tank is inspired by the XR1200: ![]() A monoshock at the rear, custom aluminium swingarm and of course, some knobby tyres: ![]() Next up was the Raptor by TNT Motorcycles which was a café racer approach towards the X440. Naveen from TNT Motorcycles mentioned that the idea was to make the bike look bulky and mean, while keeping it agile and lightweight. The rear seat cowl is a nice touch: ![]() Custom exhaust, swingarm, shock absorber and fat tyres on aluminium alloy wheels: ![]() While the handlebar design is new, the instrument cluster and switchgear have been retained: ![]() To shed body weight, carbon fibre has been used. This finish in green looks nice: ![]() Next up was ‘Raftaar’ by Bombay Custom Works which was a flat tracker custom build: ![]() Since they had to shrink the size of the bike to make it a flat tracker, they had to create a custom frame, fuel tank, handlebars and even a new exhaust: ![]() Bobbee Singh of Old Delhi Motorcycles & Co. considers Harley-Davidson as the ultimate outlaw and hence, his design was a homage to ‘Billy the Kid’ with a sidecar: ![]() Interesting design bits like the gun holster and the custom exhaust: ![]() The sidecar had a nice ‘Billy The Kid’ badge: ![]() Next up was the Bike Build Off competition. 30 builders had sent in their applications and among them, 3 were shortlisted. Each was given a Harley-Davidson X440 to modify. The time cap was 50 days. Here’s a short clip of the top 3 contenders giving info on their builds: The competition was won by Ricardo Pereira of Bulleteer Customs for this bike: ![]() Devashish Sharma of Ricochet Motorcycles built this bike: ![]() Aditya Raj of AD Customs built this bike called the Firefly: ![]() Interesting vintage look at the front: ![]() Then there was the Mod Bike Competition which was won by Kunwar Customs who had entered 2 bikes in this competition. This bike is called ‘Rustam’ and is based on a Classic 500. The brief was to make something impactful and royal: ![]() This is a bobber-style build: ![]() Attention to detail makes the bike look very royal indeed: ![]() This was the second entry from Kunwar Customs called ‘Adam’. Based on a Classic 350, the bike was going to be used daily, but the customer wanted it to look apart from other Royal Enfield bikes: ![]() Dochaki Designs had this built-from-scratch electric motorcycle… ![]() …and this bike is named as ‘Incorrect’ for its quirky look: ![]() AD Customs had their bike ‘Bijli 350’ in the form of an old school bobber: ![]() ![]() ![]() They also had the ‘Nomad’ which is based on GT 650: ![]() SNS Custom Wheels had this bobber based on the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 called ‘Ekdant’: ![]() ![]() Interesting design for the exhaust: ![]() Bulleteer Customs also had this bike called the ‘Shadow 650’ on display. Based on the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, the bike was built with the idea that this is something the Dark Knight would ride: ![]() ![]() Dyno Wars This is where tuners got to check the power that their machines generated: ![]() All the figures of the different bikes were on display: ![]() What’s IBW without some daredevils performing insane stunts on FMX bikes! Some pictures I managed to capture: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Omkar : 15th December 2023 at 16:38. |

The public could register for a ride along with a professional driver or even get behind the wheel of the Jimny. The course was designed by D-BHPian Tejas@perioimpl and his team: ![]() The course started with some articulation: ![]() Then after going over some wooden logs… ![]() …there was a side incline ramp on the left… ![]() …and the right: ![]() Then there was a cross hump, like a massive speed breaker. This had to be tackled at an angle and Jimny was more than capable of handling it: ![]() This was followed by some driving over rocks: ![]() We then went on to a natural course which included hill climbs, driving through ditches, etc: ![]() The course ended with coming down the hill with the downhill descent control feature switched on: ![]() Last edited by Aditya : 15th December 2023 at 19:23. |

| Re: Report & Pics: India Bike Week 2023 @ Vagator, Goa I'm a regular at India Bike Week. Contrary to opinion that this is an event that can be skipped, this is a reason for me to ride to Goa every year. Also, this is my longest and fastest motorcycle ride every year. I wish that all bike brands come together for this, and launch / showcase their new / upcoming products here. It is the perfect platform. However, there was one brand which had no business being here, and was getting no attention whatsoever from the crowd - The Jimny! Anyone who visits, I recommend he / she must have a nice coffee at Trip Machine. You get a proper Irish one too. I have to mention this, the vibe at IBW was even better in the early days, when Harley-Davidson was doing a lot about this fest. Things have changed, more brands are now a part of IBW, and that's great. Just the vibe, hope it comes back, gets better. I know I will be back to check if it has, next year. Met Omkar when the event kicked-off, and it brought back fond memories from the past when I visited IBW for the first time, and I was on duty: 'CLICK HERE (Pictures: India Bike Week 2014)' Onward journey, not for the so called 'BIKERS' who desire to ride on the best of tarmac, only. And crib when the roads show some signs of age or gravel or development construction. Route: Thane-Panvel-Pune-Satara-Karad-Kolhapur-Nipani-Amboli-Goa ![]() Mandatory picture. ![]() IBW is in December, but it is a sunny affair. Caps / hats are a must. ![]() The highlight for me, at IBW 2023. The Aprilia RS 457. Will be riding it soon. ![]() Me with my favourite coffee, I guess my 3rd or 4th cup during this years event. The Dirtsack / Shellsack helmet bag has accompanied me to IBW 2 years in a row now. Very convenient to just park your helmet on the bike once at the venue. Point to note, you can also place a 13" laptop and then place your helmet over it, inside this bag. ![]() ![]() Return route, the one which was being pushed hard on social media. Goa-Sawantwadi-Kharepatan-Anuskura-Malkapur-Karad-Pune-Panvel-Thane. Road quality better than Amboli? Yes. But it is slow, and time consuming. Before sunrise, there's dense fog too. I had to maintain a higher speed to get to my magic average speed number. ![]() I prefer riding solo, carry my own quick snack and go full BRAAP! ![]() ![]() Last edited by parrys : 16th December 2023 at 12:34. |

I was part of IBW this year. My first time and it was great to be part of this fest. I was there for both the days, and I must admit the crowd was spectacular. I was part of this group in the second picture, wearing the green T-shirt, BMR (Bangalore Malayali Riders). I presume we were one of the first group of riders to come by. This was on the first day, us entering the arena (close to 40 bikes). Only gripe, could not find me in this pic, I was riding pillion ![]() Missed meeting TBhp team this time. Hopefully will catch up next time, Omkar. Jay Last edited by Jred : 18th December 2023 at 12:33. Reason: addition of a line

My hate for Maruti increased just for this reason, apart from selling us the Jimny in the 4-door version. Or not selling us the 2-door version instead of it being made here. ![]() We should do a TBHP IBW meet next year!
