The 2nd edition of India Bike Week kicked-off on 17th Jan 2014 at Vagator, Goa.


Around 12pm, the convoy entered the venue.


This was the 2nd official India National HOG Rally.


Mr. Anoop Prakash, MD Harley-Davidson riding in on a HD Fat Boy.


And then it just went on.....


...and on..

Some made it a point to be noticed.


Hundreds of Harleys entered through one gate. Stopping their bikes didn't stop them from wringing that throttle.


This kid was much more excited than the rider.

An ambulance followed the HOG convoy. Still, I wonder why majority of the riders were not geared up.


More riders making their way to the IBW parking lot. (You had to buy a tag if you wanted to take your bike inside. Else, there was an outside parking lot as well.

Tickets could be purchased directly at the venue, in addition to being purchased online.

Other bikes from HD kept an eye from outside.


Sometimes some things inspire you, this young man from England couldn't stop himself from buying a ticket when he heard about the event. Even with some spinal cord pain, he walked to every stall for what he loves the most, BIKES.


And he wasn't kidding either, he carries a photograph of the bike he owns for over 40 years now; a Triumph.


By noon, the event passage was covered up on either side by Harleys. Other bikes were not allowed to be parked here, 'Harley exclusive parking'.

Participants for the Bike Build-Off: Open class

TJ Motoworks' entry.


From MotoExotica, this one-off RD350 build was the winner of the 'Open Class'.

...and now do you see it? This bike runs a stock Pulsar 150cc engine and a tweaked frame for the mod.

This looks cool enough when seen on TV, but in person, I could actually feel the adrenaline pumping.

When you know its a spectator sport, it's never a bad idea to treat the crowd to some free merchandise.


And this little guy wanted to capture the action as well.

The Bikini Bike Wash: Cleaning them dirty bikes, though I was worried if their accessories might scratch the bikes.

Big engine, yes. Big muscles? Why not.


TVS showcasing some bikes from their stable.


Wrangler had heat reflective tees & denims on display.


MRF showed off their wide range of bike tyres.




Airbrushed helmets. This needed more than 2-3 days & a better environment, hence couldn't be done at the venue.

The guys at wrapmeup managed to rope in potential customers. Wrapped a Duke 390, estimated time for the complete wrap was 2-3 hours.

These boys had some very high end riding gear, and when I asked the price, they quoted almost 70% less than the market value. Later mentioned that they were first copies and not original.


Too good to be a fake one.


This one officially retails for around Rs. 15k

Wow. That is really an awesome and diverse collection of bikes!! Some real eye-candy and truly cool stuff in there. I'm impressed.



Note that it says 'button gear shifter' near the rear wheel. Seems to be a DIY project of using a servo motor to sequentially shift gears. I wonder how consistently it works, especially since it is on a Bullet (with their notorious gearboxes)!!

To me this photo looks like its from a bike exhibition at the Guggenheim in NYC. Will try and dig it up. Though maybe that was for 'Indian' (the brand) bikes only. Can't remember...

That's a DJI Phantom, with a zenmuse 3D gimbal... though can't really tell what camera it is flying with.

Really good show, apart from those morons without helmets. I so wish the organizers hadn't let them ride in. Maybe they don't deserve to have a lidless photo on team-bhp.

Superb pictures. Thanks for sharing! It looks more like a poser fest rather than something for the real bikers would care. Proof: The so called biker's arriving in the venue sans any riding gear. Forget riding gear, they aren't even wearing helmets! wow!

Lovely pics, Sums up the Event quiet well.
If only the event was not this commercial and not so Pro-Harley.
A regular-joe rider (like me) would love to join.
Sadly I dont see that happening anytime soon.
