This experience shook me up badly.
I know the feeling. Happened a few times where I squeezed the front brake lever but didn't feel the bike react at all. I had to release the lever and pull it back again for the brakes to work. Fortunately, never happened in a sticky situation where I didn't have enough time. It's quite scary though.

On a different note, that rear tyre looks good as new. How many kilometers have you clocked so far?

You should take the bike to a service center and insist them to do a proper brake bleed. It is a life threatening issue and what if this happens when you are panic braking? Also ask them to check the Master Cylinder.

Re: Honda NX500 launched at 5.9 lakhs

Anyone has idea if we can change handlebar of NX to a wider one ? any option available ? finding the stock handlebar to be a little too narrow. Also any info on availability of a quickshifter for NX500 ? Strongly feel that a wider handlebar & QS will greatly improve this otherwise well sorted bike.

NX500 does not get a quick shifter. Quick shifter is not listed as an official OEM part anywhere. So you will need for 3rd party made quick shifters for the NX500.

Regarding the handlebar, you can try out the Transalp handlebar. But check whether this handle bar fouls with the wind screen or any other component and the cable have adequate slack.

To the dedicated thread for the side- pulling issues.

I read through the forum but couldn't find a good feedback on aftermarket accessories esp. the engine and fairing guard, main stand - From what I heard is they tend to vibrate after couple of thousand kilometers. Is this true?

Also, any feedback on the quality of the materials used for making the frames? Anyone observed rust formation, etc.

I might purchase radiator guard and sump guard but would really go ahead with fairing guard and main stand only if credible positive feedback is available. Better still, if any other aftermarket vendors are there with better products and preferably bit less expensive than the OEM ones.

Thanks,
A

You have plenty of options available now for the NX500 from both Indian and international manufacturers. Indian brands: Carbon Racing, Zana, Moto Torque and a few more. International brands: SW-Motech, Hepco & Becker, SRC etc. And then you have the Honda accessories.

I've been using the following Carbon Racing parts for several months now:
- Top & bottom crash bars
- Bash plate
- Top rack
- Radiator grill
- Centre stand
- Fender extender
- Pull-back handlebar riser
- Windshield height extender

My experience using these have been really good. They are well made and very sturdy. They've not made any effect of the vibrations. On the downside, in order to make these parts strong, they're made them very heavy and added to the overall weight of the bike. And that has reduced the already low ground clearance.

If you're on a tight budget, you'll have to look at Indian options. I'd suggest you look at the specifications and compare the weight. But if you can afford, go for anny of the international brands.
