When i purchased dio in 2006, the Activa was costlier than dio. Do not know when it happened.

Look like some college interns on the industrial training and most possibly Yamaha's future customers too.

One thing for sure, hard hat isnt compulsory in an Yamaha plant.

Re: The Gearless Scooter Thread

Hi, could somebody please tell me which scooter has the biggest space in the front i.e. between the front seat and the handle bars? I have a backpack with laptop, lunch box etc which I want to squeeze in and keep it on the floor board. Thanks!

I would say, Access and Vespa can easily accommodate a backpack out there in the front. I think Activa can also do it.

Hard hat or helmet is compulsory only in Weld and Press shops, maintenance etc.

Other areas cap is sufficient. There are many companies which do not have any headgear on assembly lines unless a worker is going under a car, etc

Re: The Gearless Scooter Thread

Do the Access/Swish, Vespa and Activa have underseat storage to store a Full-face helmet?

i am looking for a scoot with the following requirements in decreasing order of importance:

1. max storage space
2. fuel filling NOT under the seat
3. decent ride quality
4. reliability (no visits to mech other than regular service)

thanks

TVS Excel Super fits your needs perfectly...

In all seriousness, the others might only check off one or the other boxes...

Neither of the three scooters you have mentioned have a Full face helmet storage place and neither do they qualify for the point #2. For all the rest of the points IMO Honda Activa would suit in all purposes.

While Wego would tick all the four points as of now but the 4th point needs to be still established for Wego.

Check TVS Wego, it checks all points, especially point 2.

Cheers!

I agree with Ghodlur & Prajwal. Wego fits the above requirements very well

1. I can easily fit my full size Wega helment in the boot of the Wego.
2. Fuel lid is not under the seat, just over the tail lamp, very convinient.
3. Ride is very good, the 12 inch alloy wheels (all others come with 10 inchers) help gobble pot holes & road undulations with ease
4. Cannot comment on the reliability part, as it is only 3 weeks that my Dad brought the vehicle home. However in the words of the dealer, "any vehicle serviced regularly, can give you troublefree service for donkey years" & I cannot argue much on that one.

TVS Wego fits the bill perfectly. I have my Wego for the past 18 months. Have been regularly servicing it at prescribed intervals and its been reliable so far. (touchwood)

One more for the Wego. Got it 3 weeks ago and have completed 750kms and first service so far. Running perfectly well and meets all your requirements. But i have to warn you that the under seat storage cannot hold my LS2 Cartoon helmet but can easily hold the Vega type full face helmet. So if your helmet is not the "horny" type big ones (), then yes it will hold that full face helmet perfectly well coupled with gloves, papers, a cloth etc

On a separate note, completed the first service at 665kms on the odo. Wash, oil change, lubing of cables and delivery of vehicle! All completed in 90 minutes flat. It is now picking up speed faster than before. Touched 80kmph with ease on IRR today on the way to work. Overall it seems to be more fun and convenient than the RTR in the peak Bangalore traffic. That is saying a lot considering the RTR is a very good city tool!

The plus of the Wego is the low power (compared to RTR) and no gears. It does not try to bounce ahead in thick traffic and easy to control in crawling traffic with minimal work for the hands and no work for legs except for balancing. At the same time it has an almost bike like ride quality and hence very easy to zip thru light traffic. Add to it the most revv happy engine i have tried till date on a scooter and this is the best, most convenient fun machine for those peak hour city traffic stints. Loving every minute of it and impressed so much with the convenience that the RTR is relieved of its city duties and will only do highway jaunts!

That's some decent running. My Dad's Wego is yet to see the 3 digit figure on the odo, given that he uses it only for some errands. Its completed 2 weeks now & 97km on the odo.

Thanks for sharing that. How much did the first service cost you? I am yet to get the service manual. Could you please let me know what is the duration/running interval for the first service?

I have been using a Suzuki Access for the last 3 weeks and am able to put a full face helmet in the boot but it has to be done side down(as outlined in the owner's manual)

For the requirements you have mentioned , the Wego and the Streak fit the bill
