Also, the guy went and put an RD350 fuel tank instead of the killer original. |
Congratulations!
Bike looks great.
Get the orginal tank!
Check out
YEZDI CLUB on orkut, they have a thread called mechanics list, u can find out about the better ones in ur city there.
->Get the JIKOV carb immediately. its a combo of performance and mileage designed for the JAWA, yezdi is a JAWA. You should get the JIKOV for 1500 bucks in banglore or I have 2 extra ones but they cost 2000 bucks here in hyd. Putting a Rajdooth carb is easy delivers great mileage comparitively but screws up the power, if u cant get a jikov get a pacco, its use and throw pacco cant be rebored and re used, jkov can be, upto 3 times!
Not every mechanic can tune the jikov baby though
The actualy power & mileage of the bike will be good only if it has a new piston kit, power goes down upto 20-40% on a rebored one depending on bore size & age of bike. 60 size can get the mileage down to 22-24 with an old bike. best is to replace with a new bore & piston for power (if you manage to find it )
->You are in banglore dude! Look around you might get the tank, if not available, try shivajinagar Scrap yard.
->Get 90 grade oil for the gear box great for long term(the manual recommends 40 grade)
->I'd keep everything original. Dont know about anyone having discs on it, so cant comment on it, i havent found the brakes a problem, just get oversized brake shoes.
->Dont try kerosene on it, ruins the engine after a bit. But yeah, the bike runs bluidy well on it
->Dont like the sound? i love it, try it w/o the mufflers man! if we use half mufflers, we wont have to get the silencers de carbonised often.
Here are some JAWA tees i got printed, planning to get new ones again.
Last year's set-JAWA and OCC logo.

This is what I'll probably get dont later this month!
