Re: All T-BHP Royal Enfield Owners- Your Bike Pics here Please

My 15 year old CI Electra. Just renewed fitness and registration for another 5 years. Went for a celebratory ~300 kilometres round trip to a nearby beach. Still rides great. Self (DIY) maintained ever since the warranty was over. Has done close to 25k kilometres. Can hold 80-90 km/h all day, of course with some characteristic long stroke vibrations that most experienced Bulleteers are aware and appreciate of.

Sharing some pictures from the ride. Hope you like them.

Re: All T-BHP Royal Enfield Owners- Your Bike Pics here Please

Went for a sunset ride yesterday. Good weather, <25kmph winds and lovely rural roads. Starting to get a little chilly so I had a thermal inner, a full sleeve pull over and on top of that my riding jacket with thermal liner and that was about okay to keep the wind chill out. The coming winter months (Southern hemisphere) will need something more warm if I need to keep riding.

Re: All T-BHP Royal Enfield Owners- Your Bike Pics here Please

Hi All,

I would like to Introduce you all to my 2014 Bullet Electra Codename; IRONHIDE...!!!

Modification:
1. Swapped to RD350 style handlebar for comfort and better riding ergonomics.
2. Auxiliary Light. (Sparingly used in cities. Majorly used during night ride, if any, outside city.)
3. XFlash Hazard Module
4. Simtac LED Indicator Bulbs.
5. Changed the rear brake light assembly to the classic tail lamp assembly.

The Spark…
The love story between Bullet and me started when I was just an 8 year old boy. The very mammoth stance, the macho image, the sound accompanied with the bullet had ignited the spark in me. But to buy a bullet was frowned upon at that time because in the age of Hero Honda CD 100, Rajdoot, Bajaj Chetak. Buying a bullet involved a big investment as it was still a costlier bike. Then when the right time came for me to invest in a bike, I could not buy it because at that time the Royal Enfield Company was on the verge of getting closed down and I was forced to settle for the top selling Bajaj Pulsar and I chose the 180 cc version. Not talking ill of the bike but it served me well. But then came the sudden bullet boom. And by that time by back has taken a toll due to its time on Pulsar. So I decided to go for bullet But not the mass produced Classic 350/500 but the more reclusive Electra. For the sheer purpose of incorporation best of both worlds (the charm of classic bullet, with modern cues in terms of self start and disc brakes).

Ownership review
The first few days was the most amazing part of my life because due to the height of the bike, I always felt that I was on top of all other bikes. The sheer class and grace it exhibited on the road was just mesmerizing. But I started to face issues slowly in terms of Engine noise and electrical malfunctions. Electrical malfunction was taken care of by a total replacement of the wiring harness. The major headache for me was the tappet noise which became a nightmare. More than the engine thump, the tappet noise was slowly eating into my brain and at one point of time I almost decided to give the bike back to RE for a full refund. Then I spoke to one of the technical head in RE and they inspected the bike and identified the issues. They were able to rectify it although it took a week. But since then there has not been this tappet noise issue in my bike.

Since then it has been a buttery smooth ride all these years and it has never let me down even at the most crucial time. Done loads of rides, met lot of nice people. Proud to be a bullet owner. Till now the bike has been ridden for 26k kms and I use my bikes for city commuting and weekend rides.

Pros:
1. Amazing Seating Comfort
2. Riding comfort
3. Mileage
4. Ease with which we can repair things on our own rather than being dependent in a service center
5. Pillion Comfort
6. Ease of maintenance due to less electronic gadgetry on the bike.

Cons.
1. Headlight could have been brighter and the inner dome could be re-designed to allow better light throw.
2. Even though Disc brakes are provided, initial bite is lacking – which is very essential for a bike this heavy. Rear rum brake also needs improvement.
3. Low end torque could be better as this will make riding slow on high gears a bit less cluttered.
4. Engine needs a bit more refined. I guess this will be taken care by the inclusion of new J series engine for the standard models in following ears
5. Gearbox needs improvement as its very cluttery.

Re: All T-BHP Royal Enfield Owners- Your Bike Pics here Please

Hey Y'all,

This is my ride, Enfield 500 (1995). It has been serving me well for all these years. No more than the usual niggles which come along with the cast-iron engines. When this bike was my regular mode to commute, I was clicking close to 20k in a year. I must have done that for a year or two. I still enjoy riding it!

Help needed - I'm looking for an OEM stock silencer (long), as the one on my bike is rusted. Any lead will be much appreciated. TIA

I plan to keep it running forever... well for as long as possible.

Keep riding

Re: All T-BHP Royal Enfield Owners- Your Bike Pics here Please

Recently went on one of my dream rides to interiors of Arunachal Pradesh. Mix of great roads to no roads. But my faithful 23 year old 350cc Cast Iron Bullet chugged on regardless. At par or better than modern day adventure tourers.
