Hi Deepak,

The bike looks gr8, man. what grabbed my attention was your rear wheels. What size are those tyres? It seemed the same size as my FZ16, 160/60 r17. Lemme know, cause I have been wanting to get discs on my rear wheels for some time now.

Regards,
Anup

It is 4.5*17 rear wheel of suzuki rgv 250; and yes i am running a 160; but not a great tire.. need something better

You can fix a disc on any rim; just a matter of getting the design straight

PS not so sure of a 160 on a FZ16 as the use a 4*17 rim; and 150 would be the best bet anything more you can end up runing the tire profile

And lastly why do you want a anchor on you bike? the stock 140 is one of the lightest tires i have come across; most of 160 you get are not Michellins or any good brand so are heavy and FZ16 does not produce that much power

Tires on FZ16

Hi Deepak,

The stock tires on an FZ16, is an MRF Revs 160/60 R17. Ride quality is good but could be better.

I plan to move to a michellin or bridgestone, but my priority is getting a disc on, without losing the current rim dimension.

Regards,
Anup

Hi Deepak,
Firstly congrats for a great bike

As you have mentioned that this is a 250 converted into 350, now the question is your Pipes are of 250 or 350. And if this is a 250 pipes than dont you think that the bike runs hotter as 250 pipes are more restrective.

Regards

You can retain the drum and still fit a rear disc on. You need a foundation on the drum which will hold the disc in place.

Cheers,

Good question !!

yes a 250 pipe tends to run hotter than 350 pipe; but there various types of pipe designs; the one that runs real bad is the one that looks like 31K

Mine is altogether different peice visually it looks like the 1UA however mine has detacble cans; you can modifly the exhaust to cope it a bit

So mine some bit of work is done; and i am not facing any over heating issue whatsoever;

But yes i know i can get another few BHP by making a better pipe.. but that is for a later day

I am running 17:42

the stock is 17:39

Currently i am running stock radiator; though i have a 3XV radiator [New] lying, not getting time to fit it. Though the stock handles the heat; however 3XV is new, hold more capacity, is a curve radiator and most important the radiator capy is more accessible unlike stock RZ which is under the tank !!!

Champ : you seem to know these machines a bit; what do you ride?

Cool; where did you get the work done?
What kind of PIston; Crank are u running?

You should throw the stock running gear; make some money while you do it and upgrade the suspension; the stock gear is not so great unless to spend $500 + to change all internals [As they are more than 20 year old]

What ignition? Stock? Apparately 31K has the best curve [51L marking on CDI]

Those pipes are not 31K pipes; they are either 1UA or the same i have [The end cans should have 51L stamped on them] if yes then you would be running hot unless you do some mods as they are rz250r pipes;

Last question what chain are you running?

Nice Stanc eyour bike's got
