The diamond grille may be standard for the first 400, but those have already been booked. Anyways here is what the price list looks like.

~7k INR for diamond grill ?

its a bit like charging 10x for room rent by a 5-star hotel compared to a normal one; you can live with it because the hotel has 'invested' in the room. But the same hotel charging 10x on coffee is a little bit diffcult to digest.
In this case also, its a similar feeling; we are not offended by premium pricing on the engineering, but charging 7k on a 'frills' item is a bit of a put off.

Re: Mercedes A-Class : Official Review

Hi,
Just took delivery of the A180 petrol about 2 weeks back. Here are a few things I should point out with regard to your review.

The car does NOT have reverse sensors or a reverse camera which is really irritating because the rear view mirror is really small. I have called the mercedes dealer 3 times to know if I can get it as an optional extra but so far, no response from them.

There is no seat heating facility unlike what is shown in your review.

There is also no dual zone temperature control and no air condition vents on for the back seat.

There is no keyless entry which is really irritating.

There are no fog lamps although the projector lights are really good.

The mileage I am getting in town is closer to 8km/l than 15 as promised by the company.

The truth is that my i20 has a lot more features than the baby merc.

All this said, the looks are so fabulous that the car gets stared at everywhere I take it! If thats what you are after and willing to pay 4 times the price of an i20, then go for it!

Mercedes A-Class : Official Review-996820_10152051042807067_1044678337_n.jpg

As per latest ACI report the A45 AMG launch is on the cards and should be priced around INR 52-55L

I hope you can see the picture of the key. It was taken with my iPad. As you can see there are only open and close buttons.

Re: Mercedes A-Class : Official Review

Watch this awesome review by Chris Harris. A45 AMG v BMW M135i on Road and Track.

I enjoyed this test a lot. His reviews are at a different level altogether with the technical details but not being geeky at all. Enjoy!

If the A class review in the latest issue of Top Gear India is to be believed, the petrol one is actually a fabulous sporty machine. It says that though the petrol A class is 122 BHP, it feels like 140 on the road. That would make the petrol one a hot hatch!

Only those who have driven the petrol one can comment.

Dear tats07 sir,

I think its best to take this review with a pinch of salt. Why?
Simple, it depends on 2 things:
1) the reviewer's experience
2) the magazine's tendency to keep the company happy.
I generally never form an opinion on how fast/slow the car is or how the engine is based on any review, even team-bhp's. What I do look for is the engine character. Like whether it has low end grunt or good midrange etc.
The final decision on whether I like the car's engine is based only on my test drive.

Thanks,
Simple_car

Re: Mercedes A-Class : Official Review

Got the a 180 cdi rides well for city use !!!

Lacks the grunt required in highways

Pros --Has all the advantages of a merc
Cons -- Parking reverse a total headache without sensors or rev cam

Any idea on how to get the ecu remapped to the merc c class or the amg levels
Since it has the same engine ??

Re: Mercedes A-Class : Official Review

( N.B dealers of merc are a bit of letdown they don't give you much options to choose from and standard of care is just not what you expect from a merc)
