Guys what is the waiting period for the petrol Honda City in your city?
I got city VX CVT booked on the 3rd of January with Prestige Honda here in Chandigarh and was told that is was on waiting and shall be delivered to me withing 2 months. I called them today to inquire about the delivery of my car and they told me that there is some delay on the production of the petrol city and therefore it will take another 2 to 3 months :Frustrati .

I would suggest checking with Harmony Honda also once, and then talk to Prestige Honda on line of shifting your booking elsewhere. It is a clear case where the dealer is playing game. There is no delay in production as such, with multiple plants operating simultaneously.
You have to be aggressive here. Keep calling them regularly, visit their showroom every now and then.

Can you share how much these mats cost? I read elsewhere that they are pretty expensive, but if they are long lasting, it may be worth the investment.

The 3M Nomad mats should cost you somewhere around 4000 odd. Not sure of the exact amount. I have been using them for over 9 months now. The feel of these mats is pretty good. With regards to their shelf-life, I don't think it should be a problem. It could easily go for around 2 years as a minimum. The rear-seat mats could even go longer depending on the usage. I feel only the driver side mat would really undergo wear and tear due to the constant movement of feet between the ABC pedals. As such the charges of these mats are Sq. Ft. based too and you could only change the driver-side mat if needed later on and not need to pay a huge amount once again after a couple of years.

I actually found them to be better than 3D Mats.

You get these mats at around 65 to 120rs per sqft here in Pune. i find the #D nomads to be a little too expensive considering there is not much of a difference in the material that they provide.

Where in Pune can we find these 65 to 120 psf mats? That's a good price.

I am planning to put up an ownership review soon, but need quick help in the following areas

1. Having used a car with black interiors earlier, I am really worried about the seats getting soiled soon. Where can I find good seat covers in Chennai and a professional install? I stay in OMR

2. I bought 3D mats on ebay. They are just an OK fit and dont provide 100% coverage to the carpet area, especially the vertical surfaces of the carpet. Any idea of how I can protect them? I am not in favor of end to end vinyl (?) carpeting which will spoil the looks

Wow. Looks great. Congrats. Have a look at GN Car Audios. I got my seat covers from him only.

Address: GN Car Audios, 58 General Patters Road, Ph 28605058 and 42119117.

All the best. :thumbs up

I need to put seat covers on urgently, the light colour seats are a pain to maintain. Any good art leather specialists in Mumbai. Also considering a hybrid too with leather on contact areas preferably perforated.

I had booked a Taffeta White Honda City and was expecting to take deliver by this month. The dealer called me and informed that there is a new color option "Orchid Pearl White" available from next month and if I want I can choose that and get delivery by first week of March. Does anyone have this new color ? How different is it from the Taffeta white ??

Appreciate if you could point to some pics or refer some models that come in this color.please:

Hi dangerouskva, you might want to disagree here but while you could get references of the new colour online, I feel that its better to always look at the model/ car in person. For e.g. I personally also liked Urban Titanium but when I saw it in flesh, I quite did not like it as much which made my colour selection easier...;)

Folks - Completed a year with the 2014 Honda City. ODO reading is at 16,500 kms and heading for the 1st Paid Service tomorrow (4th in Total).

What is the recommendation for this service ? Any Pointers - advice - please share ASAP.

Owners pride, totally agree to your point. I ve not heard about this new color option so far. So not able to spot any cars sporting this new color. If it doesn't look very different from taffeta then am good. Again am aware that am using a relative term and opinions differ. Also would like to know if any other cars come out in this color.

Congrats. Mine completes its first year on the 20th.

Nothing major, except that you should consider getting the air filter changed. It is supposed to be changed every 20k km but in my experience, it needs cleaning every 5k km and HAS TO BE replaced every 10000km, ie at every regular service, Delhi - NCR conditions. Ditto for my Jazz

Honda has seemingly not Indian-ized its air filter schedule and what they recommend just does not work.

I cleaned my City's air filter today morning, and this is what came out.
Current odo reading: almost 25k km.
Filter was replaced at 20000km.
Perceptible improvement in pick-up post cleaning, as always.

Top of the filter sure looks clean..

But its other side gets really dirty.. (this is post cleaning)

What about Oil - does anyone recommend going for the Synthetic Oil given that the vehicle has done some 16K + kms ? What was the bill amount approximately ?

Congratulations. Honda considers every 20K service major and below is what will be carried out. Apart from this add 1K for wheel alignment & balancing if doing it at honda.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I have finalized Autoform u Impress covers for my car from Jeewajee in Chennai. I was shown various options patiently and explained pros and cons. It apparently takes a week for the covers to arrive and will be getting them fitted next weekend. Will post pictures post installation.

Here is a link to the product that I selected
