Here my post in the Budget thread.

No official news from Honda. They haven't even replied to my tweet. However people have reported dealers saying it will be around 27-28k cut.
Golden brown doesn't looks good imo in front of other colors. Seen it at the yard and Urban titanium is a much better one.

Spoke with my dealer. The updated price list is expected tomorrow.

Looks like the new prices are out, effective from today according to the below post. The petrol and diesel top end pricing overrlap is what i have not understood. Typo may be.

Here is another link Honda car prices lowered post excise duty cut

Honda City Petrol Range: 7.19 to 10.8 which was earlier 7.42 to 10.98 L (benefit of 23K for lower variant and 18K for top end)
Honda City Diesel Range: 8.37 to 10.9 which was earlier 8.62 to 11.1 L (benefit of 25K for lower variant and 20K for top end)

Interesting thing is how the V variant (Diesel) gets positioned, since it was at 10.16 in Delhi, this might go below the 10L tag in some places in India such as Delhi and it would be over the 10L in places such as Bangalore...(>10L attracts a different and higher Tax!)

There seems to be some error in the Prices indicating as per the link you provided.

It says Petrol --> 719,000 to 1,080,000 (Ex-Showroom Delhi)

For EMT Petrol the reduction is about 23,000 (From 742,000) and for VX CVT the reduction is about 19,000 (From 1,098,000)

How would the EMT Petrol have a higher benefit than the VX CVT?

I think Honda has created an inventory pool of cars and they possibly have produced more lower and mid variants than higher ones and they don't want to reduce the higher ones more and create demand which does not map to their inventory...

The official honda site is still not up, like i said they are few typo's in the link i posted. Let us wait and see a minimum of 25000 reduction is expected in all the cities.

Today we had Olympia Honda set up a stall at our IT park. (DLF IT Park Chennai)
They had brought the Amaze (I did not notice what the variant was. It was not the top end. No alloys.) and the Honda City i-Dtec (S) carnelian red pearl. I enquired about the updated price list. The guy did not have any updates and was unsure of when the updated price will be out.

Other things that I enquired with him are:

1. Do you know about upgrading City's tyre and the effect on warranty for doing so?

Guy said: Sir, When you change the tyre, you will get warranty from the tyre manufacturer. (After my clarification about my question to him) He added: If you perform the upgrade at the showroom, there should not be any effect on your car's warranty. (reason he said "should not": He was unsure about and had to confirm with the service manager)

2. If I book the car with you, I will be taking a third-party insurance cover. Not the Honda Assure,

Guy said: Sir, We do not recommend doing so. Moreover the company policy will not allow us (dealer) to give you the choice to do a third-party cover. (When questioned how does it bother the company) He added: Sir, Third party means, there will be a delay in processing, clearance etc in case of a damage claim. Until the insurance provider arrives/clears the papers your car will be stalled at our place. (At this point I stopped listening to him as it was obvious he is doing his job and trying to promote Honda Assure) He continued blah. blah. blah.
The bottom line what I assumed: If a customer with Third-party cover is at their service center for an insurance covered repair/work, customer is not going to get the best of Honda's service experience.

3. Why did you not bring a top end variant to show off? may be a V or VX?

Guy said: They will be here for a week and would showcase S, V and VX in that order over the week.

4. What about petrol city? What about the test drive vehicle (petrol)?

Guy said: Expected by end of march.


That's it. I gave my contact details to him and walked away. I must tell you guys the City gathered a huge crowd unlike the other cars/brands that put up a stall. i am looking forward to buy a V Petrol sometime this year.

Some analysis on pricing (All prices Ex Showroom Delhi)

OLD price range:
Petrol Rs 742,000 – Rs 1,098,000
Diesel Rs 862,000 – Rs 1,110,000


NEW Price range after excise cut as posted on above link:
Petrol Rs 719,000 – Rs 1,080,000
Diesel Rs 837,000 – Rs 1,089,000

It's actually pretty weird. I see less price cut on the top end models. I'm not sure if this has to do with higher dealer margins on top end models, thereby reducing effect of excise cut on them.

The reason for such small difference in petrol and diesel top end models is that petrol price shown is for VX CVT variant which had a reduction of 18,000 Rs. and VX diesel variant which had a reduction of 22,000 Rs.

Just wanted to point out one thing on Mud Guards. I'll let //M and vsrivasta confirm and they have bought V/VX model:
From brochure, Mud Guards (body colored) are included in SV, V and VX variant.

Yes I confirm that on the V Variant Body Colored Mud Flaps are included.

Taking the new price list from Dakshin in Bangalore from this link: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ml#post3374321 , I've done some comparison between old and new.

The NEW SV CVT Non Metallic Ex Showroom price does not seem correct (look at difference. It's like odd man out). The reason I feel all the more for error from Dakshin is because I called up Honda customer care and they gave me foll. info for SV CVT Non-Metallic Ex-Showroom Delhi:
Old Price: 949000,
New Price: 931000
Difference: 18,000

I'll try calling up Magnum/Whitefield Honda to check on this. Hopefully all dealers should have received the revised pricing.

It seems that Honda wants to advertise a low starting range.
