This has happened twice in the last six months and both times it has happened when the tank was less than 1/4th full. After making the tank full, it has vanished. Not sure how to co-relate this, but could it be possible that sensing low fuel level the ECU wants to preserve the fuel as much as possible and reduces the fuel supply to the injectors resulting in undue coarseness?

It has nothing to do with the fuel level. Have you got the latest ECU update specially available to handle this problem? Also get your Fuel Delivery Module (FDM) replaced.

The FDM was replaced during the first service itself and the ECU too was reflashed. Since this has occurred only twice till date and both times when the fuel level in the tank was low I am assuming some correlation between the two.

AutoIndian, I drive till DTE is in the 70 to 100 range every time and have never observed any difference in car behavior. As mentioned in one of my old posts, I once drove till DTE reached 19.
Suggest you visit the service center next time you face the problem. Could be an issue with FDM again.

May be it needs replacement again, as lot of people reported repeat modulator replacements.
Service centre people will not believe in your explanations until you reproduce the problem in front of them but its next to impossible to simulate it again as it auto fixes after some time.
What I did was, I recorded a video each time that truck sound started appearing and showed them the video, uploaded to YouTube, sent to Zonal Head and then only started believing that there is some problem.

I completely agree with the TUV being a practical workhorse but comparing the mHawk with the BMW i8, mini cooper or even the engine of the year ecoboost is surely an overkill. These engines are state of the art and have been acclaimed for that. The mHawk is a lacklustre engine which goes about its duty week without being exciting or very fun to drive. Comparing it to the i8 or such cars will give wrong impression to people reading the forum hence commented. Please don't take it personally.

With the launch of new mHAWK100 engine for TUV300, do we have any option to upgrade our existing TUV300 to mHAWK100? Also, looks like second row seats are a bit better now with more under-thigh support.

Not sure if upgrade is possible, I would love to go for it.
Yes, the second row seat has been improved and child seat mounts have been added. See below press release from Mahindra.
In the video the seat looks slightly more inclined, with better thigh support. Looks like the thickness has been increased too.
There was a speculation that the upgraded TUV300 will also get NuvoSport's touch screen. Surprisingly, that didn't happen.
Edit: Guess M&M will not offer the mHawk80 to mHawk100 upgrade officially just to make the T8 mHawk100 option more lucrative. T6 and lower variants continue to come with mHawk80 engine and they wouldn't want everyone to come and upgrade.

The engine and mechanicals are the same as the mHawk80 but in a higher state of tune, which is what the Nuvosport is running on. If you look at Nuvosport reviews, engine noise is said to be higher than the TUV running on mHawk 80.
All said and done, I am guessing that the devils (the little details) in the new mHawk 100 are yet to be sorted and hence my personal preference is to stick to the mHawk 80. Given my driving style, I am not sure how much of a difference 10Nm of additional torque and 18 BHP of power will make. M&M should have taken a little more risk and thrown in the new 1.9L 'Delhi' special into the TUV. The engine bay does seem to have enough space to fit a larger engine. Now that would have been something!

I second that. As per M&M revised specs, the mHawk100 offers torque of 240 Nm in the range 1600-2800 rpm compared to the 230 Nm torque in the 1500-2250 rpm for mHawk80. The RPM range is on the higher side and considering that the engine is otherwise exactly same higher RPM will lead to more noise.

The problem is with TUV T8 AMT owners where their engine option (mHawk80) has been discontinued (no more listed on specifications page). They knew that AMTs are causing problems with their inconsistent behaviour, so they decided to stop production and come up with mHawk100 with refined AMT working.
The increased torque and bhp in this engine might be serving as a better motor for their AMT systems. But what about those who purchase just now, mine is only 2.5 months old and now discontinued. There will be no takers of that now.
Its clearly mentioned in their PR that AMT is lot more smoother now. We have been cheated and some of us even considering option of consumer court as well. It is high time for Mahindra to come up with some sort of upgrade solution for their AMT owners.

agree: The TUV300 was designed as 84bhp car. However market forces have specs listing 1500 Diesel motor giving 100 bhp (Maruti Brezza and the recent BRV). This upgrade to 100bhp is a marketing gimmick for new buyers. There is no hardware added to the earlier MHawk80, just a software tune up and a new badge(and a new price). Otherwise they would have dropped the 80bhp model altogether.
It would be prudent for existing owners to get their cars stabilised for optimum performance, rather than think of 100bhp. The new tuning may throw up some new niggles :) but I am certain the 100bhp tuning will drop the fuel economy further by 1.5 -2 kmpl.
How does the AC fare in this? I have read it is chilling for the 1st row. But how is it for the 2nd row, and maybe whenever there are a couple of folks in the jump seats?
Would be nice to know this from owners of TUV in cities of high heat and humidity.
Also, with the new 100 bhp on offer, what will be the turnaround time for deliveries, considering that people who had booked earlier the 80, would either be offered to upgrade or would themselves opt to.

If i m not mistaken, the turbo system is entirely different betweent th etwo engines. Request you to check that.

Please do share the source for this as almost all reviews mention that Nuvosport uses the same parts as the TUV300 and the difference is power is a result of software tuning.
