Sorry not sure about the Diesel. The service center folks only knew that there was an update when they checked in the system and they had no information on what the update was for. But I felt an immediate improvement as I drove straight into traffic that day.

Yes, got mine updated yesterday, better performance in lower gears.

Thank you very much Vinit. I like the blue color too. I was open to both colors, green came my way first.

As for car, I already knew what to expect and what not to expect as I had driven it many times. Needless to say, it's a car that's not comparable to any car in its price bracket and sizewise segment.

I have a MT Diesel and today I have also received a message from PPS Bangalore. So the scope is probably not limited to just better tuning for AT. If you have any other information on this that would be helpful.

My annual service is due in 4 months so I was thinking of getting this done then but the SA seems to be persistent that it needs to be done urgently. Their communication is very abstract so I'm not sure why this is critical.

Got the same message a few months back and did the update as advised. I did not notice any improvement in performance (mine is a Diesel AT).

Is the update limited to 2021 versions and above? Mine is a 2020 Diesel AT. I haven't received any messages about an update. I will check at PPS Hosur road. Its nearby.

Don't know about that, mine is a 2024 model. I will be going there this Saturday (PPS Hosur) for the one year service. I can check about this.

Yesterday, my Jeep Compass had trouble starting ( needles on console were jerking violently and car was not starting). I contacted RSA, and they arranged for a technician who managed to jump-start the car. It turned out that the battery was dead in just over two years. The Exide battery that came with the car had only an 18-month warranty.

I replaced it with a new Amaron battery (DIN 74 spec). However, even after installing the new battery, I noticed a battery service warning and a start-stop malfunction warning.

When I took the car to a nearby service center, they ran diagnostics and reassured me that the warnings would disappear after keeping the car locked for six hours. Surprisingly, this morning, all warnings were gone, and the car is running fine.

Mine is a April 2022, and still on the stock exide battery. I feel that the auto start stop takes a toll on the battery life.

I use it all the time, wanted to know from others who have been using. How long can I expect the battery to last given daily Bangalore traffic office commute?

Please make it a habit to switch it off as soon as you start the car. Your car's battery will bless you This is arguably the crappiest feature I've seen on modern cars!

I have a Dec 2022 Petrol Compass AT with the original battery still ok (touch wood). I always run with the Start/Stop enabled so not sure if this is the problem. Always found the Start/Stop to be useful for me and never have had it stop out of place.

Update on this. The service advisor said these software updates are for models 2021 and above, ie after the major facelift was done. He mentioned these will continue to happen for a few years for my vehicle. Also, there is another update they will be doing to the software for my vehicle. I had not received any prior intimation of this and was informed only when I gave the vehicle for service.
