Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Being a jeeper is a completely family feeling.

Self had gone for Jeep Compass Glass cleaning and detailing at Autotriz, Bhosari (also owned by a fellow jeeper) and mentioned the same to the Jeep Pune group.

With a short notice of a few days and this information, we were pleasantly surprised to be joined by atleast a dozen more jeepers to have an impromptu meet at the detailing studio and discuss on everything cars and Jeeps.

There was snacks and tea by the very gracious hosts who made the entire bunch extremely comfortable.
This felt like old times when entire families would come to drop folks at the station.

Jeep brotherhood is precious

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Good Afternoon fellow BHPians,

Need your opinion and experience regarding Jeep Compass Diesel MT ownership.

Am looking to take the plunge & upgrade to JC but have a few queries to be answered before I finally decide.

1. Clutch Pedal hardness feedback (My primary route has heavy traffic/ currently driving Polo GT/ i20 elite MT).
2. Performance/ startability concerns (if any) at sub zero temperatures.
3. Any given Pro & Cons of having a JC.

# Other options being considered are VW/ Skoda Twins.

Many thanks & appreciations for the insights you may share.

Cheers !

I had not received any prior intimation of this and was informed only when I gave the vehicle for service.
Got my vehicle from its 1st service along with a second software update. Noticeable improvements -
1. Performance appears to have improved in lower gears
2. MID appears to be brighter now and able to read the dials even when there is a lot of sunlight

Have a Diesel AT - 1 year ownership. In terms of performance, it feels a bit sluggish to accelerate, but once on the move, touches triple digit speeds easily. Since I stay in Bangalore, we never experience cold weather, having said that, no issues so far with starting.

Pros - Great drivers car, easy to drive, very stable at high speeds even on curved roads. Good engine power, have gone to the hills and the vehicle did not struggle even once on the climbs. Feels premium and has sufficient features. So far, service personnel have been very responsive and attended any complaints I had.

Cons - Expensive parts and service! My 1st "free" service cost me Rs22K. All round visibility a slight issue especially coming from Vento.

Overall, very satisfied owner.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Mine is March 2022 model. Will be completing 3 years. I received a call from Jeep life asking me if would like to renew the jeep life app @3500/- annually. The only useful feature I feel is the lock/unlock and the location via the app. So is it worth renewing it?

I use the app regularly and feel its worth.
Good for tracking current location and driving stats or route taken for a new trip.
Its very handy to lock/ unblock in case keys are not available.

Would have loved the Engine or AC start feature would hav been very handy.

My other car just has an Airtag to track.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Could anyone owning Longitude variant share the tyre options other than Firestone. After enquiring at few shops, i am told Yokohama Earth 1 as the only option apart from Firestone and Bridgestone. Recently changed my Ecosport tyres to Yokos and not quite happy with it.

Only other option is to upsize to 235/55 R17. Michelin have an option of Primacy 4ST. I had used XM2 in my Fiesta previously and felt they are worth every penny. My only worry is how much effect it would have on steering effort, as I dont want to fiddle with the very well tuned steering response.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

The tyre options in the 18 inch rims are pathetic in India and after 20000 kms and almost worn oem tyres decided to call it a day and downsize to 17. With more options of AT (the requirement for my driving zones) and a taller sidewall I choose to go functionality over looks.
Was travelling to Shillong via Guwahati and had arranged in a tyre hub in Guwahati. Sars Auto.
The old vs new tyre variabilty gives 8+% increase in sidewall with almost negligible other parameter changes.
Cost after giving my old wheels and bald tyres came around 60K for 4 set of wheels and Comforser CF1000 AT Tyres. Drove around 700 kms back home and I could feel the extra confidence with the AT especially in our Siliguri Gangtok Highway with no percieable change in feedback but as expected a bit more road noise if i roll down the windows in 3 digit speeds. Mines a 2023 Model S 4x4. I feel this is the only way for peace of mind if you have some rough driving in mind and utilise 4WD.

Except for the decals and badging, only the dash cam is a worthy addition, but you need to pay an additional ₹50000 for it. I wonder how many takers we will have for this new edition?

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Does anyone have the contact details of the head of Landmark Delhi NCR or any reference, or the contact information for a Stellantis/Jeep representative?

I bought a Jeep Compass in December '22 from Landmark Noida and exchanged my old Nissan Terrano for it. The dealer informed me that they would hold the car until it was sold to avoid dual transfers and provided me with an undertaking.

There was an instance of a challan last year, for which they apologized and stated the challan was due to a staff member taking it for some chore, promising to obtain the NOC within 15 days.

This week, I received a call from a person in Haridwar who claims to be the alleged third owner of the car, which means the dealer has sold it to a second owner already without the NOC. Now, the third owner plans to sell it to a fourth and has asked me to obtain the NOC to complete the transfer.

We were under the impression, in good faith, that the car had not been sold or possibly scrapped for parts. However, this news is quite surprising.

I have been calling all the Landmark Noida numbers but have received no assistance thus far, and I am considering seeking legal help since I have an undertaking from them, as well as the ability to obtain testimony from the current owner.

I want to make one last attempt with the appropriate representative before involving legal action.

The car has provided me with the only positive experience associated with Stellantis and Landmark, while my recent general service experience has been terrible. But that is a topic for another post.

For now, I request guidance from the community regarding this situation.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Hello everyone,

We own an October 2021 Jeep Compass 1.4 DCT Model S, which has been a reliable companion over the past 52,000 kilometers. As the stock Bridgestone Turanza 225/55/R18 tyres are due for replacement, we’re exploring the possibility of upgrading to a slightly larger size, such as 225/60/R18 or 225/65/R18.

We’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this potential upgrade. Specifically, we’re curious about how these sizes might impact ride comfort, handling, speedometer accuracy, fuel efficiency, and overall fitment. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I own a 2023 S 4x4 in India and have upgraded to 235/55 R18 all round after I split one of the stock Bridgestones on a rock. I had only one brand in mind when I went shopping which was Michelin Latitude but the dealer pitched Vredestein Ultrac Vorti-i at a considerable price difference and I can't say I regret the decision. The tyres are quite close to Michelin in terms of performance. And they look cool as well. The upgraded size does not cause any issues and I felt this should be the case as I am located in the UK and Jeep gives 235 width tyres on R19 rims on the S 4xe in the UK. After the upgrade I do not see any difference to FE, it is still as one would expect of a diesel slushbox. I do not see any noticeable speedo error as well. One plus point that came as a by product of this upgrade is a few mm raised GC at the front and lesser scraping of the aero flap. The new tyres have now crossed 10k kms and there are no concerns to be noted.
