Honda has revealed its first ever, U.S. made 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid as part of a mid-cycle update for its popular CR-V.

Quote:

The CR-V Hybrid will also get ‘Hybrid’ badging, as well as an exclusive blue Honda shield in the grille.

. The CR-V Hybrid also boasts a new digital instrument display that presents the information one will require, or would like to see, in a hybrid vehicle. In there we find the vehicle's power/charge status, and a driver-selectable display for power distribution and regeneration. The last exclusive feature inside the CR-V Hybrid is a pair of paddle shifters that act like on and off switches for deceleration. By activating the left paddle, the driver can increase the amount of regenerative braking from the electric motor when decelerating.

Today i got the free accessories fitted from the Honda workshop. The front sensors & side step illumination.
To my horror, after taking home the car after the fitment, i noticed that the left hand side blank on the face plate below the fog light was missing.
I complained to the showroom guys, that they might have misplaced the same while fitting the front sensors as they had removed the bumper.
After 6 hours of agony, i stumbled across a picture from the official team bhp review.
Supposedly only the left hand side has a vent hole for the inter cooler, where as the right hand side is blanked out.
Even the Honda workshop guys had no clue about it.

Team-bhp to the rescue once again !!

Which CRV do you have petrol or diesel ? Is the CRV BS6 as I'm getting mixed reactions on it from dealers ?

No this is not BS6 Engine. I bought the Diesel 2WD option.
They still don't have any vehicle on the road, which is BS6 compliant. Mixed responses as in?

Mixed responses as in I was told both petrol and diesel are BS6 and when I asked another dealer they said no.

Upto 5 lac discount announce on CRV today. What say the experts? Take it, or leave it?

This discounts are on Diesel or Petrol?
I am afraid to call my local Honda dealer because they will pester me to commit.

The discounts are on the Diesel variants only. 4lacs for 2wd and 5lacs for 4wd.

They have a buyback offer as well.

For guys who are interested, there is a 6.5-7 lakh discount on CRV 4WD diesel.
I think with this discount, it is fairly priced. I had taken a test drive as the local Honda dealer insisted - loved the ride quality, plush interiors but the performance is just so dull. How can you spend 30+ Lakhs on such a sluggish car? Plus, I don't need the 3rd row seats. But for someone with different requirements, it might work out. The build, interiors, NVH and ride quality are excellent.

No big discounts on petrol model (as it is BS6 compliant) and I am told there are no 2WD diesels available.

This is what the car should have been priced at launch! Is this applicable across the country or is this a dealer/model specific price? Honda just lack the aggression seen earlier and seems to have accepted its fate in India.

This is only for Diesel 4WD version. As I understand, Honda is not manufacturing any more diesel CRVs at this point and they want to exhaust the stock before BS6 deadline. As per the dealer, there is only 4WD diesel available, no 2WD diesel is there.

The petrol variant has minimal discount as it's already BS6 compliant (need to confirm).

I agree with this discount, CRV looks attractive if you consider the looks, space, ride, build quality, interiors etc. However, providing a 120 Bhp engine on a 1.7 ton vehicle is criminal and no amount of discounts can substitute for such a blunder. However, if it's chauffeur driven or if you are fine with sedate driving, it might be a good buy.

Will Honda CRV Diesel continue in its BS6 avatar as well in India? Will the services, spares be available for the next 10 years? Will be very happy to see comments coming from the experts in this forum. Which everyone of you are.

The discounts and the studied silence from the dealers about the future of diesel CRVs in India point to the end of the road for the diesels.

Spares should be available for 5 years, after which the waits at the service stations will be prolonged.

I don't think they would discontinue diesel CRV because the diesel BS6 motor is coming. They might be not producing any more BS4 diesel so want to liquidate stock.

I think they should use this chance and get the twin turbo BS6 diesel with higher output and a rational price. Then it would sell surely on its own.

Saw a brand new one yesterday on the Airport road. Looks classy and understated. Shame that it flopped so badly due to various factors almost all of which were Honda's own doing.

Still a great deal for a low usage self driven urban customer wanting a low TCO crossover which will last for 10+ years easily.
