Was browsing through my feed on instagram when I randomly stumbled upon this sick piece of renders of the modified XUV700. Decided to share it here, that is one
MEAN looking beast!
Really appreciate Mahindra for offering a very powerful Petrol Engine in XUV700. 200 BHP and 380 Nm at a price of 11.99L is very exciting. This engine specs is from upper D segment but priced at lower end of C segment. This along with good dynamics and handling for SUV and a structure safer than outgoing XUV500 makes it a VFM.
Consider the best-selling competitors: Hyundai sells Creta even up at the SX variant priced at 14.1L ex.sh. The 1.5 L NA in Creta has 113 BHP, 144 Nm is close to Brezza's K15 NA with 103 BHP, 138 NM. The Brezza LXI is priced at 7.5 L ex.sh.

For that matter, even the base diesel with its 155PS, 360 Nm motor is extreme value for money as it undercuts its rivals by 15-20%. Creta and Seltos with their 115PS engines are nowhere in the picture. Harrier base model costs Rs 14.39 lacs, Hector and Safari base models with diesel engines cost 14.99 lacs. There will be at least Rs 2.4 lacs difference on road between XUV700 and Tata Harrier on road prices which is
huge

The major look change is due to the larger alloys. The tyres suddenly look huge. But then it will affect the off road driveability.
Mahindra has filed two trademarks, ‘Mahindra Javelin’ and ‘Javelin by Mahindra’.
M&M had previously announced that it will gift an XUV700 to Olympics Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra in appreciation of his performance.
Recently Anand Mahindra announced another Javelin edition to Paralympics Gold Medalist Sumit Antil.

Such a pleasant and an informative interview of Mr. Velusamy Sir by SVP. SVP does a good job with the interview and is very professional. Goes in to detail regarding the structure of the car, the safety aspect, the suspension and the dual multimedia screen. This is like an English version of the Tamil videos that were shared couple of pages ago. M&M have truly put in serious effort to redefine the industry benchmarks.
One interesting point that Mr. Velusamy points out is that making a safer car doesn’t cost the manufacturer much or any extra. It actually saves them money as it reduces the weight of the car. It’s more about the mindset of the company and the people running it. He mentions that once a car is designed, it’s very tough to implement changes. Safety has to be a focus since day 1 of designing the car.

Cheers!

Thanks for sharing and really enjoyed the way it was covered by SVP!
Really interesting point here when they say that you can save cost if these things are planned right at the start. Wondering how VW/Skoda would justify the premium considering they have a India specific platform! Maybe experts can explain what could drive them to keep cost higher? Just fat margins or something more premium that eyes can’t see?
The marketing team for M&M has done wonders with this product so far, I hope they don’t stretch it too far and we start seeing more of the car and drive review in real world scenarios!
5 seater version has so far been only on papers or shall I say PPT, that will give some really tough competition to Koreans. I don’t know why but was waiting badly for someone to teach them a lesson for the kind of monopoly they have put in and the attitude they got in their showroom.
One concern is that the MX variants of the XUV 700 may end up like the AX Standard variants of the Thar when it was launched. The base AX Petrol MT trim if the Thar was launched at 9.8 lakhs. I do not know if anyone has ever even seen one in flesh and blood! It was deleted from the line up within weeks and even the higher AX trims with side facing seats were withdrawn shortly after launch. Only the highest AX trims costing a shade under the LX range were retained. So the AX line is pretty much confined to being a paper tiger.
The MX line of the XUV 700 may face a similar fate. Its destiny may be limited to giving M&M some "shock price" headlines and it may disappear riding into the sunset very soon after launch.:)

Actually the guys who booked the AX petrol MT before it was withdrawn got a great deal. I have a neighbor with multiple German cars and an AX which he rarely uses. perfect for him.
I'm hoping the MX petrol MT will be the same. A 200 bhp monster for occasional use for pleasure only.

Looking at these reviews I wonder how the system will behave in real life conditions with bikers and roads without the pristine lane markers. Of course you won't be using adaptive cruise control in the city, but I wonder how the radar will behave. Or does it not come into play if CC is not activated?

Thanks! Absolutely loved the video. It has been explained in both technical & layman terms.
We now know, the SOUL (Pun intended) of this Beast XUV700. clap:
Just one thing bothers me - the connected car functionality is provided by Vodafone e-SIM. Vodafone network is already poor and their future is uncertain in India. Will it run well for car's lifetime or Is there a way to opt/change for another network provider?
Off topic, but just saw a Renault Triber ad claiming to be and rightfully so, to be the Safest 7 seater in India tested by GNCAP. Kudos to Renault clap:
Hoping that the XUV breaks this record in the coming weeks!
Hello bhpians.
Latest info on the XUV700.
1. Mahindra's market analysts expect that the XUV700 will poach around 28-33% of the Creta/Seltos customers and around 20% of the Harrier twins customers.
2. Mahindra expects the Blue and Silver colors to be the most preferred and hence has planned the initial production accordingly.
3. The news of XUV700s being stored in the plant awaiting ECUs is not true at all and Mahindra will be producing complete XUVs without any part fitment pending. As of now they have enough chips to produce around 10k units of the XUV.
4. Mahindra is hoping that the XUV700 customers won't be facing any major hardware related issues since they have done enough road testing all over the country. But according to my sources initial lot of customers should be prepared for some software related glitches as so much technology has been crammed into the XUV which is an uncharted territory for Mahindra.
5. Mahindra expects the AX5 (O) variant to be the best seller in the AX range for both the powertrain options and they expect a fair number of the prospective AX7 buyers opting for the automatic transmission option.
6. Even though many of us think that the MX variant may be eventually killed off as it's just their to give a very low starting price, my sources tell me that this variant will likely stay as a part of the XUVs lineup as it will share its powertrain with the upcoming Scorpio.
7. Pratap Bose has already started work on the XUV700 facelift as well as the XUV900 coupe. And it's likely that both will share a similar front end styling and will launch by 2024/25.
8. Mahindra has recently built a fully electric prototype of the XUV700 and its powered by a 54 KWh battery pack. But it's just a prototype and not a roadworthy one. A fully electric XUV700 will only be available with the next generation's arrival which is slated for around 2029/30.
Keep watching this space for more info.:thumbs up

In 10 years probably they can invent new EV technology! Mahindra is not new to EV and they should look at introducing an EV XUV 700 within next couple of years.
They should also look at a minor facelift just within 2 years and perhaps major facelift around 4-5 years.
