Another WEIRD niggle cropped-up yesterday!
Had visited a friend's place yesterday night for dinner, walked back to the car, only to find that the car refused to unlock, even after multiple attempts. I knew for a fact that if I tried to unlock the car by retracting the handle and inserting the key into the door. the car is going to wake up the entire neighbourhood!
The moment I opened the door the horn started blaring and the lights started blinking violently; at that time of the night, it looked like the car was possessed! I actually jumped at the loud noise; surely the whole quiet neighbourhood would have woken up with a start.
Since it was already late and I didn't want to get stranded in the middle of the road, I couldn't take the risk of stopping and restarting the car. Ultimately reached home, parked the car, slotted into P, shut the engine with the Start/Stop button and opened the door. The moment I opened the door, the same scene with the horn and lights occurred all over again! It was supremely embarrassing to say the least as it was 2.45 a.m. by now and the whole society would have woken up with this loud noise! Shutting the door didn't help either. All this while, Adrenox was sending these alerts: "Unauthorized vehicle entry alert". Ultimately the horn and lights stopped on it's own. |

Hi,
I too faced the exact same issue today. Luckily I had a better timing as this happened just 5 minutes from my home and during the evening hours lol:.
The car just refused to unlock and I had to unlock it using the key. The moment I opened the door, the alarm was blaring at full volume.
Even after several tries, the car refused to lock/un-lock with the key fob. I also tried locking and unlocking with the second key, but no success. |

This happened to me last night when I driving to Chandigarh from Gurgaon. Stopped for a coffee break and came back to the car, and it refused to open. Tried the Adrenox app and it also couldn't open the car. Then manually opened the car using the key fob and car alarms went blazing. But the car thankfully turned on and I started driving, the alarms stopped after a bit, and then I drove non-stop to Chandigarh. On reaching, again the car refused to unlock - I again had to manually unlock and car, and woke up the whole neighbourhood at 1:30 am. Then, I let the car be, just locked it manually and came inside. Just before sleeping, I tried unlocking the car and it blinked and opened like nothing wrong ever happened. |
The same thing happened to me. I had gone to a funeral, already overwhelmed with grief. When I returned to my car to leave, it refused to open. I tried unlocking it with the remote, but nothing happened. Then, when
I unlocked it manually, it suddenly went into full panic mode—blaring the horn and flashing the lights at full intensity. Everyone was startled, and I was utterly humiliated.
After waiting so many days for my car to return from the ASC, where they replaced the infotainment display, this nightmare happened. Now, I’m terrified to even take the car out again.
Please, can someone suggest what to do? What was the solution to this? I don’t know if I can trust this car anymore.

Another day, another problem with the XUV700. To my surprise, the air conditioning temperature controls were not working, and the air felt stuck at a temperature around 22°C. According to the technician, the car has 2-3 actuators responsible for temperature control, and it’s likely that all of them have failed/stuck.
It’s been almost three years now, and I must say I’m "pleased" with the surprises the XUV700 keeps throwing my way—almost every week! |

Another day, another serious issue with my Mahindra XUV700. This time, while the vehicle was in motion, it displayed a Check Engine System warning.
Dear Mahindra team, please take this feedback seriously. Your customers spending 3 Million deserve better. |

he same issue has happened to me. The coolant hose burst, and the O-ring is also faulty. I'm not aware of any official recall by Mahindra or any action being taken to address this issue.
Mahindra is not taking responsibility for the faults and has left us to deal with the situation on our own. Brands like Hyundai, Maruti, and Honda tend to offer a more reliable experience compared to the challenges one faces with Mahindra. |

Update on the Issues with My XUV700
My car was with them for three days, during which they were able to address only the coolant hose issue. Unfortunately, the car was returned with a significant scratch, with paint ripped off the boot door, and the boot door itself misaligned
I will drop off my car again today and provide an update on this later. |

After the recent software update, the system has started acting unpredictably—now the Wi-Fi keeps restarting frequently. I’ve recorded a video to explain the issue clearly. It’s been over three years, and my concerns remain unresolved. I’m really unsure when Mahindra will finally be able to address this problem. |

Update on the Issues with Xuv700
The display is now completely non-functional, and I was forced to drive the entire day without any information on the screen. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, including restarting the car and disconnecting/reconnecting the battery, nothing has worked. |
Update on the issues with XUV 700
Got the car back after more than 20 days from the service center. They replaced the display under warranty, and the warranty claim process was seamless.
Mahindra's warranty team was beyond my expectations and truly perfect. However, that still does not justify customers having to suffer like this. We buy a vehicle for comfort, not for frustration and inconvenience.
After replacing the display, now this issue has started. Every day, my XUV700 surprises me with a new problem.
I have no clue why this vehicle refuses to open, starts blinking, and makes a loud noise. This has never happened with any other brand. A lot of people have suffered from this issue. Even at my service center, I called them while this was happening, and they were on the call, witnessing the issue in real-time.
To stop the chaos, the service center's CoTek technician told me to open the bonnet and disconnect the battery all while being surrounded by hundreds of people at a funeral. It was beyond humiliating. Disconnecting the battery did solve the issue, but I cannot keep doing this every time.
Someone from Mahindra reading this should understand the gravity of such issues and how deeply they impact customers in real life.
Took the delivery of my new XUV700 P AT AX7L on 26th January 2025. This is an upgrade to my 2009 Accord 2.4AT which parted ways on 21st January after 12-13 years of ownership.
This is the final quote after a big round of negotiations.

This is completely unacceptable! Not only is this inconvenient, but also creates certain level of anxiety every time you start the car. This is not the experience we expect from Mahindra.
If you have already tried reasoning this out with your dealer and the hierarchy involved there, then I would say you (and we at tbhp) should make a lot of noise around this on SM. Maybe start a separate thread of your ordeal? That might help in getting the right attention.

Is this a 2025 model?
I got a Rs1.05 lakh dealer discount on a 2024 model (above the 2 lakh price cut from Mahindra).
This does not include discount on insurance.
I got insurance from outside for around 49k. Zero dep + all important add-ons. IDV at 90% of ex-showroom price.

Its 12/2024 Manufacturing. They did not allow taking insurance from outside.
I own a 5 month old ax7 diesel AT, biggest disappointment has to be the audio quality. Especially compared to my last car-Harrier XZA plus.
Mahindra’s speakers sound tinny and vibrate like crazy. I am thinking of upgrading the audio setup, intend to upgrade the speakers and go for damping of doors if required. Not opting for anything like subwoofers etc but just plug n play speakers to keep my warranty intact. Usually listen to my music at low or medium volume and prefer clear crisp bass and midrange
Would request members for suggestions on upgrade and recommendations for a good seller installer in and around Chandigarh
I have a small update on the unlock issue. maybe it will help someone
Suppose you are carrying two remote. When you lock the car with one remote and you get a "keyinside vehicle" when you lock the car then the other keyfob is disabled/won't work till you unlock the car with the same key fob you used to lock the car. We used to carry both keys during long travels and discovered this by accident ( had the second remote in a bag and locked the car with the primary remote while the car displayed the key inside vehicle error)
Sent my AX7 P AT for the 40k kms servicing to my regular service centre: NBS Mahindra, Sewri Mumbai. ODO read 41,068 kms.
A list of following works that were done and parts/labour required, which also include resolution of some niggles and random sounds emanating from the door panels and windows:
- Wheel Alignment & Balancing
- Exterior & Interior Enrichment
- Evaporator Cleaning
- Front LHS Window Channel changed under warranty. (changing the motor twice hadn't helped earlier)
- Oil Filter with O Ring
- Element Air Filter
- Fuel Filter
- Maximile Ultracool 2x 1L
- Maximile Ultra V4 6L
- Carbon Filter
- Sticker Weights for Wheel Balancing
- Driver Seat Track Assembly changed under warranty (this was getting stuck erratically).
Total bill came up to around 21k inclusive of taxes.
Rear brake pads are still going strong and will last another 5-6k kms. Front ones were changed around the 20k kms mark though and have about 10k range left. Stock tyres are doing okay and should last till 50k.
My SA Tejas Jadhav is a dynamic and knowledgeable guy, have trusted him with the car since first service 3 years ago. Any BHPian opting for this service centre can definitely approach him.
First we need to agree and accept that we are dealing with a very unethical company like Mahindra. I had my Thar DAT stranded me on road few days back. The workshop first replaced fan belt. Then serviced alternator motor and few other sub assemblies. This is just a 2 year old vehicle. There are so many serious issues which are fundamentally flawed. This applies to any Mahindra vehicle. I can only pity Mahindra ev buyers. If ICE has this many issues what to talk about EVs. I just couldn't believe the fact that a company of this size and money in the name of booking amount running into millions has no interest in delivering a problem free vehicle even after 4 years. I have decided to sell Thar and go for Innova. I really long for a no worry car at the moment. Only Toyota can offer that. I really regret selling my 2013 Innova in the first place.

Wow, that’s some impressive negotiation on the discount!
After booking the Thar Roxx, I’ve decided to go with the XUV 700 instead, mainly due to ride comfort, which better suits my needs and road conditions. The long delivery timeline for next year was also a bit of a drawback.
However, apart from matching the insurance quote, they aren’t offering any discounts at all.
Could you share the details of the showroom where you made your purchase? If possible, please DM me the sales advisor’s contact—I’m hoping to finalize my Thar Roxx cancellation and move forward with booking an XUV 700 soon.

Yes bargained a lot and they had only 1 last 2024 vehicle left and they did not wanted to let the buyer go. Its Bhavna Mahinda nerul navi mumbai. Pls visit them and ask for Miss Komal. You can tell her Yogesh Sodah has given her reference to you.
Had to buy the screen guard, mud flaps and number plate frame as accessories which was like 3K.
Got the side steps and 7D mats for 15K from local accessory shop.

7 Years Warranty in Australia. We only get 3. With max extension to 5 years. Why? |
That's because of fewer and scientifically designed speed breakers, I believe, which can considerably extend overall vehicle life while lowering maintenance and fuel expenses.

Hi everyone,
I bought the XUV700 Diesel AT recently and have clocked 1,000 km in two weeks—mostly city driving. Fuel efficiency so far is 12.7 km/l, but I’ve been noticing a few things and wanted to get some insights from fellow owners.
=====
Would love to hear from those who’ve figured out the best way to manage this, especially in city driving. Any tips or habits that have worked for you?
Appreciate the advice! |
I too have the D AT AWD, the fuel efficiency is lower due to the AWD, to mitigate the DPF issues, here's what I follow:
1. Night/early morning drives every week. Driving above 60kmph for ~30 minutes or above 2000rpm results in the burning of soot, thereby clearing the DPF.
2. I make sure that the engine warms up and I've driven quite a bit with a warm engine, otherwise the DPF will quickly clog up.
3. You do get a warning when the DPF is about to clog up, you can then just go for a drive, with the car being driven above 60kmph the DPF clears up in no time.
The most important point, do not worry much about the DPF, the car will let you know if it is clogging up, enjoy your new vehicle!
Hi. There was this weird thing that happened. I own a AX7L MT Petrol since 2 yrs. My Adrenox subscription expired around 4th/5th March. The car was last driven on 23rd of Feb. I get a message from my car cleaner on the night of 5th March that my car is unlocked. I went and checked that both the keys were with me. Nobody had used the car to even get anything out. We have a dependent car park and the other car was behind. I have no clue how this would have happened. The only connection is the timing around Adrenox expiry and the incident. Never used Adrenox to remotely unlock. Always had locked and unlocked using the key. This incident has been bothering me. Wanted to check here before I take the car to the service station. While there have been issues unlocking the car, has anybody faced a similar one? Thanks.
