Makes sense, Thanks for this insight!
Question to fellow Virtus/Slavia owners,
Have you tried sticking a sun film on the sunroof? Chennai's midday head is not very kind to these sunroofs and even if we want a car without one you cannot have it with the Engine + GB combo you want.
I enquired with Car Spark OMR and they said they have a sun film which can be stuck to the sunroof panel and that can cut down heat penetration. wanted to get our members opinion on this.

I personally don't see the point of getting a sunfilm for it. From the looks of it, the glass is already UV cut and the sun blind would stop as much heat from entering the cabin as possible anyway.
Just wanted to share the glimpse of variation in mileage in Virtus GT that I got in city vs highway driving in/around Bangalore on consecutive days. Btw this city one being the worst I've ever got and usually doesn't fall below 6kmpl:

Almost 19 with the DSG is great; I've never been able to cross even 17 on the highways with a manual.
Hi All,
I am about get my Virtus GT DSG delivered soon and I have a few questions on the accessories.
1. I asked for a sunglasses holder and the dealership told me that they can procure one from VW (Tiguan) and can give me that. Will that fit Virtus or do I have to get it from Slavia?
2. I asked for Active TPMS but the accessories guy told me that it is a waste of money as the built in warning system is very good and the Active TPMS would not add much value (considering its price). Also he told me that it would cause problems if we have to change the tyre (due to puncture). Is it really true? Also anyone who has Active TPMS (or who do not) is it really worth it?
3. Is that carbon air filter really necessary? Will there be any default air filter already in the car for AC? Is extra ₹1000 worth it for the carbon air filter?
4. I wanted to get the boot mat but then the dealer again told that it will not bring much value. My question is if I am not using the boot mat, will the stock mat be able to withstand the weight if I put lot of luggage?
5. The dash cam (Blaupunkt) supports upto 128 GB memory card but the accessories guy told me to use a 4 GB memory card and told that using higher memory cards would make the dash cam slow. I think this is absurd but then again I don’t want to purchase a 128 GB card and then make the dash cam slower. Does it really make the dash cam slow?
6. I wanted to get the number plate frame (black) but the accessories guy told that he will have to glue it and gradually (after an year or so) it will lose its stickiness and will cause vibrations and noise during drive. I don’t know if this is true or not. Has anyone felt this noise in any of their car?
7. There is some under body lights as an accessory and the accessories guy told that they received it as an accessory very recently (last week) and it comes with a total of 6 lights (3 on each side) and costs around 11k. I asked him to show some pics of how it would look and he told that he doesn’t have any because I would be the first customer of them. So I didn’t ask him to install them but I am planning to install them during the first service. Accessories guy also showed me some holes under the chassis during PDI (when the vehicle was lifted) to show me where exactly those lights will be fitted. There was a user manual (pdf) also with the accessories guy but unfortunately I didn’t ask for the manual from him. Has anyone fitted this in their Virtus? Is it worth it?
Sorry for the long post. It is my first car. So I have a lot of questions (specifically on accessories since there are loads of them)
Any response/help is appreciated.

Usually ~14-16 on highways has been the norm for me, occasionally crossing 18 if driven sedately. In this case downhill terrain might also have helped as this journey was from Bangalore towards Krishnagiri.

Congratulations on your 1st car!
I’m believing this post will not only help Kingerman but also other owners. Also, I thought of including my review of accessories I opted, for whole car review. But sharing here assuming it will help most of them as we’re in festive season with lots of new deliveries/existing owners gifting to their cars/purchases due to any accessory offers.
1. If your variant doesn’t have a sunroof, sunglasses holder from Slavia accessory list should fit as I read it on the forum but not sure if the same part is used on the Tiguan.
2. I would urge ‘Avoid’ the Active TPMS accessory offers by VW. I invested in it, I didn’t get the expected experience out of it vs money invested. You always need to open the app and wait for the readings to load which takes long time.
Readings are almost accurate but no warnings received as of now when a tyre had low pressure.
For the same price or even lower, there’re options available at tyre outlets and online.
3. I found the carbon air filter more effective than the one car was equipped with.
There was an air filter came along with car purchase and I had changed to carbon during 1st service as part of bulk negotiation for accessories purchase.
4. Stock mat will withstand weight, but if you’re looking for keeping boot ruf-n-tuf, I would suggest to go with GFX which is a waterproof too and fits perfectly.
Zapcart website have 1 with Slavia name.
5. Lookout for dashcam purchase outside VW accessories as I read on the forum that a user reported an issue with Blaupunkt dashcam and asked for a part replacement instead dealer said only re-purchase of the entire dashcam would resolve that issue.
Buy elsewhere and leverage the advantage of continuous power supply through cigarette lighter port without going through hard wiring route.
I don’t think higher memory capacity card would slowdown the dashcam, I have a 256 GB card & never experienced slowness. My front dashcam when recorded at 1440 fps for 3 mins would occupy ~500 mb which means a 4 GB card will suffice only for ~25 mins drive and evidence is lost due to erase-record cycle.
6. We have the number plate frame for our Crysta and it’s been 3 years now, no defects seen and no vibrations noticed. I didn’t get for Virtus due to no stock but plain frame looks good too without any vibrations.
7. I didn’t hear about it!
Having ready holes under the chassis is a nice one. Can you check with team if lights gets turned on when car is unlocked? If yes, that can help during ingress and egress in the nighttime.
Can’t comment on pricing part unless we see those in action. It will be worth only if this accessory performs as a functional aspect rather than cosmetic in my opinion as I lost money with VW Active TPMS.
Other accessories you might consider are:
- Dual tone horn (not the trumpet horn comes with Polo).
- Front parking sensors - costs around 11k as per dealer and I’m waiting for the stock.
- Puddle lamps - if you’re not taking under body lights. I read puddle lamps throw is good and helping functionally.
- Food tray - I have a kid so purchased it, yet to install it but quality is true European.
- Rear sunblind - it helped in summers blocking heat.
I would also recommend you to get all the accessories fitted prior to delivery. Fitting post that might bring in labour charges (e.g. I was told 2k for TPMS installation which I denied entire accessories but later they waived off which might not be possible all the time). Check with them before you proceed.
I was going through VW site and see that 1.5 TSI manual and DSG are only available in GT Plus variant after Sport variant launch.
Slavia offers 1.5 DSG in newly launched Sportline trim. If I am looking for DSG Virtus, then the only option left is GT Plus which is about ₹19.2 lakh ex-showroom.

I can answer a few query based on my experience with Virtus GT DSG,
1. If yours is not sunroof model, you can buy it from Skoda suitable for Kushaq/slavia. Only issue with this holder is, it gives rattling sound in bad roads when sun glass is inside. Hence I have added some cushioning to avoid it.
5. I am using a Transcend dash cam with 64GB card since many years. No issue of lagging.
6. For number plate, I have installed with out any glue and no issues noted so far. Planning to use a double side tape in case of any issues.

I too noticed that.
This is a screen grab from a OVERDRIVE YouTube video (March 2024) during the Volkswagen GT Sport / GT Line preview event. Under Chrome lineup, there's both the GT 1.5 TSI MT and DSG.
I am interested in the GT MT.
I assume the GT DSG is getting a feature update (possibly in line with the newly launched Highline Plus variant) and when ready, the GT MT might also be launched alongside :)
Hi Bhpians, wanted to discuss an issue. Of late I have been hearing diesel type clatter in my 1.0 TSI AT. It occurs around 900-1000rpm while creeping in slow moving traffic.
On discussing with Service executive, he said it was normal. Certainly this noise wasn't present like a month ago.
Anyone else facing the issue, if yes then how did you work it out?

Hi, I ordered the Sunglass holder from boodmo and received a Gray insted of Beige. How to ensure we get the Beige?
Is there any option to have a sunglass holder for a car with sunroof?

Someone posted this on reddit, double check the price from other dealer if possible.

I am not sure about Boodmo as initially I ordered in Boodmo and waited for around 3 weeks. But the seller didn't supply and kept postponing the order. Hence I cancelled the order and ordered with Skoda. I would suggest you to return the item in boodmo and take it from Skoda!
